“Kittery”
I heard this name today and never have before. I’m not a real fan to be honest, and have a name image associated with it. but curious what all of your takes are on it. and, ifs it made up? short forsomething? have you ever heard it before?
It’s a town in [name_f]Maine[/name_f]. There’s a [name_u]Navy[/name_u] shipyard there.
That’s my only mental association with Kittery.
I do like ways to [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] but it’s not about to dethrone either [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] or [name_f]Ketzia[/name_f] for me.
Its a cute sound; would be a cute nickname!

No, it’s not legit. I much prefer [name_f]Kitty[/name_f].
Might it have been [name_f]Kateri[/name_f]. I would guess that there are some regional accents could lend itself to [name_f]Kateri[/name_f] sounding like “Kittery.”
I pity anyone with a name like that!
it’s a nice thought but I actually saw it written. my guess is it’s after that town in [name_f]Maine[/name_f]. I hadn’t heard of it before but now it makes a little more sense.
