Heather or Hadley?

I like and dislike the name [name_f]Heather[/name_f]. When I think of the name [name_f]Heather[/name_f], I think of a field of heather flowers. I dislike [name_f]Heather[/name_f] because I think of the movie Heathers and how [name_f]Heather[/name_f] was a mean, snobby cheerleader. I like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] because it means field of heather flowers without the mean girl Personna.

I think [name_f]Heather[/name_f] is a sweet name that really deserves a comeback at some point. Unfortunately, right now I know too many women my age named [name_f]Heather[/name_f] so it feels like a “mom name” to me.
That said, I would be pleasantly surprised to meet a baby [name_f]Heather[/name_f].
If I were choosing between the two at this moment I would pick [name_u]Hadley[/name_u].

I prefer [name_f]Heather[/name_f] because of the nature imagery and wistful ending of the name - [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] is a little too teenager vibes for me; [name_f]Heather[/name_f] will age better imo. I prefer [name_u]Hartley[/name_u] to [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], fwiw.

I like them both but am leaning a little more towards [name_f]Heather[/name_f]

In general I prefer Heather; the movie’s not as strong an association for me as the plant. It is well-used, but I don’t mind! I love the breathier sound.

I have not watched Heathers so I think of the springtime, fluffy ducklings and sweet-scented breezes

[name_f]Heather[/name_f]. It’s more feminine and softer. [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] sounds like a surname.

Both are lovely!

However I prefer [name_f]Heather[/name_f] she has a nostalgic 1950s feel which is really appealing, she has gorgeous imagery surrounding Scottish Highlands, bright purple plants, pebbled beaches and hair whipping in the wind. I think [name_f]Heather[/name_f] is lovely!

I really like [name_u]Hadley[/name_u], I’d definitely go for that if you prefer it! [name_f]Heather[/name_f] is really nice too and would be cool to hear on a baby, and I’d say that if you’re looking for something unique/unexpected it would probably be the better choice since [name_u]Hadley[/name_u] feels more modern to me. But both are good names!

Yes. “Hadley” is very harsh and low quality sounding also
