What are your opinions on the name Heather? I personally like the name. I associate the name with Heather flowers on the Scottish moors. I also think it sounds like a mean girl name
I love the name Heather. I regularly recommend it and include it on hidden gem lists. I associate it with windswept flora on craggy rocks, and images of girls running along the beach. Despite the movie, it doesn’t give me a strong mean girl feeling - I get his others might - but to me, it’s a gentle, refined name for someone who could also be playful and adventurous.
I like [name_f]Heather[/name_f] - warm and distinctive with nice imagery and not used/heard that often these days where I am.

[name_f]Heather[/name_f] is a beautiful name in need of a comeback
Heather to me feels very fresh and full of charm. I do not see it as dated because I am not from an English speaking country so I do not have this in mind. As a sound it is strong and reminds me of rain and of tempests (in a positive way; I like this struggent elegant image it might give) and it is a name that reminds me of flowers in the snow, determined, in the wind.
It is not a “mean girl” name to me at all. I associate it with moors and Scotland and meadows too, it feels very natural, but not in a calming traditional bucolic or sweet flowers cottage type of. More like main character of Bronte novels like Jane Eyre or Cathy. Heather is indeed a name to be rediscovered.
As a nickname, I would consider Hetty.
I really like it!
I love [name_f]Heather[/name_f]! gives me imagery of breezy purple flowers and spring picnics lol.
