I’ve been thinking about this name quite a lot lately; it’s a variant of my sister’s middle, and she just feels so musical and a little bit old soul.
If you had to nn Helena, what nn would you use? (tbh I am not sure I would use a nn, but I’m sort of curious if there is a predominant nn or what obvious or not-so-obvious nns people would pick for her)
What middle name would you pick for Helena? (At one point I really liked Helena Beatrix Blythe, but she doesn’t feel like my style at all, I no longer think I would use her… I do think Helena and Blythe are really beautiful together though!)
Probable [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Helli[/name_f] or [name_f]Lena[/name_f].
Probably something a little more chic-yet-classic. Maybe [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Jayne[/name_f], or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Suzette[/name_f]?
I love Helena!! She was on my short list for a while. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite nickname is sweet [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]
Some of my combos:
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_u]Florence[/name_u]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_u]Camille[/name_u]
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
I don’t love [name_u]Blythe[/name_u], but it think [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] is so lovely. I’m also partial [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
For heh-LANE-uh, I’d nickname her [name_f]Lena[/name_f] (LANE-uh)! For HELL-en-uh, I’d nickname her [name_u]Lenny[/name_u]!
For a middle name, I like [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Anna[/name_f] a lot. The repeating sounds are so nice. But for something a little less repetitive, I think [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] would be quite pretty, too.
For a nickname, I think it would depend on the pronunciation you use? Helen-uh, Heh-lay-nuh, Heh-lee-nuh?
I’d probably use [name_f]Nell[/name_f] or [name_u]Laney[/name_u], depending
I prefer [name_f]Helen[/name_f] or [name_f]Helene[/name_f], but [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is nice too (just not on my lists and not what I would use personally, but I really like it for others). It feels a very romantic name for me, suit for every eras, very elegant.
The nickname I would use is [name_f]Lena[/name_f].
I would use [name_f]Nell[/name_f] or [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]!
I would use [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_u]Rose[/name_u] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_f]Melissa[/name_f], but [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_u]Blythe[/name_u] was my first thought with [name_u]Blythe[/name_u]!
I initially thought of [name_f]Leni[/name_f] but since you mentioned not-so-obvious nicknames [name_f]Hetty[/name_f] then came to mind. I think I might prefer [name_f]Hetty[/name_f].
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] feels stately to me so I prefer her with something tailored and traditional that doesn’t distract. From my own list I like [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f].
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] is in our list for my current pregnancy. If we use it, I think sometimes I’d call her [name_u]Holly[/name_u] as a NN. We’re thinking either [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] (both middles are honors).
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]. I would nickname her [name_f]Nell[/name_f] if I chose it. I would choose [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] as possible combos.
