The ones that give me autumny vibes are: [name_u]Aspen[/name_u], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m], [name_m]Crispin[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Forrest[/name_m], [name_m]Fox[/name_m], Harvest, [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m].
Thank you! Most of the people that I have asked said that [name_u]August[/name_u] and [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] give autumny vibes. I’m really really surprised (and happy). I assumed people would think that it gives summer vibes because of the month.
I was totally perplexed at first because I use the meteorological system, so it’s already the 23rd day of fall for me! I tend to forget loads of countries use the astronomical system.
Anyway, these names totally give fall vibes:
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m]
[name_m]Crispin[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Fox[/name_m]
Harvest
[name_m]Heathcliff[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
Some more ideas:
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_m]Pierce[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugh[/name_m]/[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_m]Ivor[/name_m]
[name_m]Quentin[/name_m]
[name_m]Louis[/name_m]
[name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Lorcan[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Declan[/name_m]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] - although this would be on my girls list
[name_m]Bear[/name_m]
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_m]Crispin[/name_m]
[name_f]Cypress[/name_f]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u]
[name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
[name_m]Fox[/name_m]
[name_u]Grey[/name_u]
Harvest
[name_m]Hawk[/name_m]
[name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m]
[name_m]Haze[/name_m]
[name_m]Heathcliff[/name_m]
[name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Sorrel[/name_u]
I would be embarrassed to name my little boy any of these:
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] (the “ass” part is not good)
[name_m]Bear[/name_m] (no, just no)
[name_u]Beau[/name_u] (it’s okay, but a beau is a boyfriend)
[name_m]Bosco[/name_m] (why? it sounds doltish)
[name_m]Aleph[/name_m] (a Hebrew letter of the alphabet??)
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] (a sea, that’s it)
[name_m]Crispin[/name_m] (the hard cider?)
[name_f]Cypress[/name_f] (-ess names are feminine, as in [name_f]Princess[/name_f])
Embrun (it’s a Canadian town, not a name)
[name_u]Everest[/name_u] (I do like [name_u]Everett[/name_u], though)
Harvest (oh my…that poor fella)
[name_m]Hawk[/name_m] ( I can just hear the hocker jokes…)
[name_m]Haze[/name_m] (as in Purple [name_m]Haze[/name_m]?)
[name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] (oh my, this is just ripe for bullying)
[name_m]Finnick[/name_m] (sounds a bit profane)
[name_m]Fox[/name_m] (I know this is popular now, but also too close to a profanity)
[name_u]Grey[/name_u] (too depressing)
Oregon (it’s a state)
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] (sure, if [name_u]Falcon[/name_u] is the middle name)
[name_m]Pheonix[/name_m] (mispelled, but even as [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u], it’s a city in AZ)
[name_u]Roux[/name_u] (as in a mixture of fat and flour?)
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (has been hijacked by the girls)
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] (too close to “roofies” the date rape drug)
[name_u]Sage[/name_u] (this has been hijacked by the girls)
[name_u]Sorrel[/name_u] (as in the salad veggie?)
These I like, but I don’t think of [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] when I hear them
[name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m] (I prefer [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m])
[name_m]Heathcliff[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] (love)
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] (love)
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_u]Rousseau[/name_u]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]
I like [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (my grand father’s name), [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] & [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]! Thank you
Thank you!
Thanks!
My kids will be fine, no worries. We don’t live in an English speaking country, so most of your jokes won’t be an issue here (“ass” in [name_u]Aspen[/name_u], roofies for [name_m]Rufus[/name_m], beau as a “boyfriend”). Also, we never heard of purple haze, the veggie salad, etc.
[name_m]Aleph[/name_m] (a Hebrew letter of the alphabet??). > A variant of [name_m]Alf[/name_m] (Elf) and Aelf / Alof ([name_m]Noble[/name_m] wolf). Also, [name_f]Alfa[/name_f] / [name_f]Alpha[/name_f] is a name (and first letter of the Greek alphabet) especially worn by kings, Alif / [name_u]Elif[/name_u] is a common name in Turkey (and first letter of the Arabic alphabet), and [name_m]Aleph[/name_m] is also given in many countries.
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] (a sea, that’s it).> A literary name. I love that it’s a sea, it has a meaning for us.
[name_f]Cypress[/name_f] (-ess names are feminine, as in [name_f]Princess[/name_f]). > [name_f]Cypress[/name_f] is a new name, it doesn’t have any history and is not associated to any gender. Actually, in my language, Cyprès is a masculine word (it comes from Cypressus. Are -us names feminine?). Also, Lyess is a masculine name, same for Farès, Lounes, [name_m]Johannes[/name_m], [name_f]Flor[/name_f]ès, [name_m]Eli[/name_m]ès, Ilyès. All pronounced -ess
Embrun (it’s a Canadian town, not a name). > Sorry to announce that, Embrun is a [name_m]French[/name_m] name.
[name_m]Hawk[/name_m] ( I can just hear the hocker jokes…). > Never heard of it.
[name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] (oh my, this is just ripe for bullying). > I’m a teacher, I know that kids do not get bullied because of their names (especially with the diversity we have nowadays), but more for their personality and physical appearance. Kids do get bully, no matter what their names are, I have thousands of examples. I’m not going to pick a name I don’t like because some parents don’t know how to raise their children properly, and because they don’t teach them tolerance and respect. Also, a quick research will show you that there is no evidence between harassement and the name you wear. My question is: Should we support parents who give their child a name they love or should we support bullies?
Oregon (it’s a state). > No way! Is it?
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] (sure, if [name_u]Falcon[/name_u] is the middle name). > Nope, will be [name_f]Sparrow[/name_f].
[name_m]Pheonix[/name_m] > I meant [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]
[name_u]Roux[/name_u] (as in a mixture of fat and flour?). > Nope, as the color in [name_m]French[/name_m]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] (has been hijacked by the girls), > and?
[name_u]Sage[/name_u] (this has been hijacked by the girls), > and?
[name_u]Sorrel[/name_u] (as in the salad veggie?).> Nope, as the plant
You probably understood that I absolutely don’t care if the name is also a sea, a color, a letter, a city, a word, an animal, a song, a plant, a state, or whatever. I don’t know if you tried to be humorous, but some statements were wrong and definitely not funny. I understand you don’t like these names, and it’s totally fine, but it’s not a reason to make fun of me. Also, I just wanted to know what names give you autumn vibes.
These definitely do:
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]- prefer for a girl
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m]- not sure why this does but [name_u]August[/name_u] doesn’t. I guess [name_u]August[/name_u] is too connected to the summer month for me! I do see [name_u]August[/name_u] as a golden color, which helps
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m]
[name_m]Crispin[/name_m]- was gonna suggest this when I saw [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] but you’ve already beaten me to it!
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]- this gives me a rich red feel
[name_m]Finnick[/name_m]- anything [name_m]Fin[/name_m]- has a red/auburn hue to me
[name_m]Fox[/name_m]
Harvest
[name_m]Hawk[/name_m]
[name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u]- in hindsight though, this would be more appropriate for spring? Rebirth and all…
[name_u]Rousseau[/name_u]
[name_u]Roux[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]- prefer for a girl as well
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_u]Sorrel[/name_u]- GP of mine
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]- another GP of mine
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
[name_m]Bear[/name_m]
[name_m]Bosco[/name_m]
[name_m]Crispin[/name_m]
Embrun
[name_m]Finnick[/name_m]
[name_m]Forrest[/name_m]
[name_m]Fox[/name_m]
Harvest
[name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m]
[name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m]
Oregon (anyone whose ever been here in the fall knows)
[name_u]Rousseau[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Sorrel[/name_u]
Honestly just about any tree name (except maybe cypress) reminds me of fall.
