Hello! Name ideas for #2

Hello everyone! I am new to these boards. I have been browsing them as well as babynames.com and decided to make an account.

My husband and I found out we were expecting #2 early december. I am almost 6 weeks along. Our son [name]Jude[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] is 18 months old. We have somewhat of a list going, but I would love to hear everyone suggestions.

[name]Olivia[/name] (nn [name]Liv[/name] 99% of the time)
[name]Ava[/name] (too popular for me but dh loves it)
[name]Sera[/name] (dh also loves this for some reason)

What would you say my style is?

[name]Jude[/name] [name]Xavier[/name]

I love [name]Holden[/name], [name]Cullen[/name], [name]Declan[/name], [name]Easton[/name], and [name]Callum[/name]!

And for girls, I like [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]. I like [name]Ava[/name] but I agree it’s too popular, and [name]Sera[/name] I think will get confused with [name]Sarah[/name].

I really like the 2 syllables with [name]Jude[/name]'s 1.

Some other suggestions: [name]Jude[/name] &

I would say your style is classy/stylish. [name]Love[/name] your ideas for #2! Here are my favorites:

and, instead of [name]Sera[/name], how about [name]Serena[/name]?

I love your son’s name!

[name]Micah[/name]: I think it’s handsome, although I know I can see myself accidentally calling them [name]Judah[/name] and [name]Mike[/name].

[name]Holden[/name]: I think it’s a nice name, but its style feels very different to me from [name]Jude[/name]'s.

[name]Cullen[/name]: I think it’s handsome, but I can’t really see it with [name]Jude[/name].

[name]Declan[/name]: Ditto…

[name]Easton[/name]: This feels a lot trendier to me than [name]Jude[/name]…

[name]Callum[/name]: I love [name]Callum[/name], and for some reason, can better see it with [name]Jude[/name] than I can [name]Cullen[/name] or [name]Declan[/name].

[name]Luca[/name]: I love it, but because it has [name]Jude[/name]'s “oo” sound, I think some of the others work better.

I picture names like these with [name]Jude[/name]:

Surnames I can see with [name]Jude[/name]:

[name]Abbott[/name] (nn [name]Abe[/name])
[name]Griffin[/name] (nn [name]Finn[/name])

Along the lines of [name]Declan[/name], you may also like [name]Beckett[/name], [name]Breckin[/name], [name]Rafferty[/name], or [name]Cormac[/name].

[name]Olivia[/name] (nn [name]Liv[/name] 99% of the time): Because it’s so popular, some of your other names sound fresher to me. You may also like [name]Liv[/name] (just [name]Liv[/name]), [name]Livia[/name], [name]Olive[/name], or [name]Lavinia[/name].

[name]Ivy[/name]: I really, really love [name]Ivy[/name]!

[name]Ava[/name] (too popular for me but dh loves it): Too popular for me, too. You may also like the Irish [name]Aveline[/name], or [name]Eva[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name] (nn [name]Evie[/name]), or [name]Ada[/name].

[name]Sera[/name] (dh also loves this for some reason): I think it’s pretty, but I wonder if it will be misspelled a lot. You may also like [name]Seraphina[/name].

From your list, I can best see [name]Ivy[/name] with [name]Jude[/name].

More names you may like with [name]Jude[/name]:

About your style, I’d say it’s eclectic, because you like surnames, popular names, vintage names, Scottish and Irish names, etc.
My personal favorites from your list are [name]Callum[/name], [name]Micah[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name].

Best wishes to you!

I love [name]Holden[/name], [name]Luca[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name].

[name]Jude[/name] & [name]Luca[/name]
[name]Jude[/name] & [name]Ivy[/name] are my favorite sibsets from your list. [name]Lovely[/name]!

[name]Holden[/name] reminds me of the book by J.D Salenger Catcher in the rye.Sorry if that sounded rude. But it is a beautiful name

[name]Easton[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] are cute together.
[name]Olivia[/name], [name]Ava[/name] are too popular, maybe try something less popular.
[name]Sera[/name] is cute with [name]Jude[/name].
Good [name]Luck[/name]!

I agree with this lady!

2 syllables would go perfectly, and what a fantastic name [name]Jude[/name] [name]Xavier[/name] has!

I’d say your style is avant garde. Definitely not afraid of the unusual (which i categorise myself in - but bottled it with more boys. Wanting to be more daring this time round!)

From the list, i may steal [name]Gable[/name] for my list although i already have 4 top boys names - [name]Teddy[/name], [name]Rafferty[/name], [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Beckett[/name] and [name]Sullivan[/name]. I also love [name]Thatcher[/name], mentioned above - but being English i think its a bit too soon for that name over here!

Girls names are a little harder. On my list is [name]Pippa[/name], [name]Hermione[/name], [name]Harriet[/name], [name]Beatrix[/name], [name]Romilly[/name], [name]Elliot[/name]…[name]Evie[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Olivia[/name] - all very cute - but VERY popular here xx

Thanks for the help everyone!

Some other names I fogot to mention:

Well, based on your son’s name alone, I would say you favor saint names! [name]Both[/name] [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Xavier[/name] are saint names…

Based on your lists, however, you have a mix of Biblical names, English surname names, and names of Irish-Scottish descent. Quite a mix! My pick from your list would be [name]Micah[/name], as it has a more similar feel to [name]Jude[/name] in my opinion.

Your girl style seems to be, well, popular. You seem to favor simple names that end in A and tend not to have overt nickname options.

Thus, I might offer up to you some suggestions of saint names for baby #2:

Some of these are variants of saint’s names, yet they still have the same flavor and meaning, for the most part.

Also, [name]Jude[/name] was one of the original Twelve Apostles of [name]Jesus[/name], so you may wish to choose another apostolic name for a second son. [name]Jude[/name] was originally identified as [name]Thaddeus[/name]…

[name]Peter[/name] - also called [name]Simon[/name] [name]Peter[/name]
[name]James[/name] (the Greater)
[name]James[/name] (the Lesser)
[name]Judas[/name] Iscariot

Once [name]Judas[/name] is gone - after he betrays [name]Jesus[/name] and kills himself - [name]Matthias[/name] becomes the twelfth disciple.

Best of luck in choosing a name for your newest arrival!

I’m not great with boys’ names, but here are some girls’ names I like that you may like, too:
