I like it a lot but it makes me think of “helpful hints from [name]Heloise[/name]” (an advice column)

I like it very much, it’s a great name, but I do prefer the form [name]Eloise[/name].

Meh. As germyflub21 said, I prefer [name]Eloise[/name]. However, I like the rhythmic sound of [name]Elisa[/name] even better.

I think of [name]Heloise[/name] and [name]Abelard[/name], and yes, the cleaning advice column. The Hel- at the beginning is routinely cited as making this name untouchable, but [name]Helen[/name] and [name]Helena[/name] are certainly doing fine!

I prefer [name]Eloise[/name], the H just seems redundant to me and I’m never sure quite how to pronounce it. I know one [name]Heloise[/name], who goes by [name]Eli[/name] (prn like [name]Ellie[/name]).

OK, so I’ll admit it. I love [name]Heloise[/name]. I do pronounce the H, albeit very lightly…almost as if it’s just an aspiration on that E. I also put a lot more emphasis on the -loise part of the name than some, I think. Maybe it’s because of my age and northern upbringing, but the Household Hint connotation doesn’t deter me (I actually had to look that up).

Also, [name]Heloise[/name] has an old-world feel/heritage. The rash of [name]El[/name]- names among my peers dampens my enthusiasm for [name]Eloise[/name]. [name]Heloise[/name] seems so much prettier and organic to me.

[name]Heloise[/name] is not really unique is actually quite an old french/[name]German[/name] name. I’ve seen girls with this name in Europe.

I love [name]Heloise[/name]! I get a gorgeous, romantic medieval vibe from it, and it’s definitely strong. Strangely enough I don’t like [name]Eloise[/name] at all. I do love [name]Helena[/name]. Having a unique name would be great!
