Help! 1 "t" vs. 2 (poll)

We have settled on our boy’s name. [name]Elliot[/name] / [name]Elliott[/name]. Just can’t decide how many "t"s to use.

Some have said 2 "t"s balance out the "l"s. However I see 2 "t"s a lot in surnames and in fact work with a man with [name]Elliott[/name] as a surname. Also I have heard some people say the 2nd “t” is useless and adds an unnecessary heaviness.

Good chance we’ll call him [name]Eli[/name] as well for a nn, if that makes a difference.

I go back and forth a lot as to which spelling looks “right” to me. So what do you all think?

I like it better with one ‘t’. Good luck!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Elliot[/name]! It just looks more balanced to me, and [name]Elliott[/name] looks like it has too many letters… I do like [name]Elliott[/name] more than the other spellings I’ve seen, though–[name]Eliot[/name], [name]Eliott[/name], Elliotte, etc.

Good luck!

I like [name]Elliot[/name], one t.

I love [name]Elliot[/name]!

I love them all but I prefer the sleek, short, and no frills [name]Eliot[/name]! I definitely prefer this spelling if you are using [name]Eli[/name] since it is there in the first three letters.

We spelt ours [name]Elliot[/name], 2-T’s looked like too many letters

[name]Elliot[/name].

[name]Elliot[/name], one t for sure.

[name]Elliot[/name] - with just the one “t” gets my vote

one “t…”
