[name]Hi[/name] there,
Our gorgeous twins arrived - both girls, but one feisty with golden hair and light blue eyes and one dark and chilled out.
Middle names are family names and were already decided: [name]Alice[/name] & [name]Hope[/name]
I had liked:
[name]Romilly[/name] [name]Alice[/name], nn “[name]Romy[/name]”
&
[name]Ottilie[/name] [name]Hope[/name], nn “[name]Tilly[/name]”
But DH thought they sounded made up. He wanted [name]Heather[/name] & [name]Jane[/name]…etc.
We seemed to compromise on:
[name]Aurora[/name] [name]Hope[/name], nn “[name]Rory[/name]” (I’m Irish) for the loud twin with dawn’s colouring
&
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Alice[/name], for the calmer twin
BUT then DH decided there were too many “s” sounds in the second name (our surname is “[name]Collins[/name]”), and I am not keen on “[name]Reena[/name]” as a nn, so we have come to an impasse.
I like how [name]Aurora[/name] & [name]Serena[/name] have the same number of syllables and are nature names, but aren’t too matchy for fraternal twins.
Can anyone think of anything else that would go as well with [name]Aurora[/name]?
Or perhaps some totally different, distinctive combination that would work as well?
Or tell me that we’re being too picky: I have lost all perspective… and our relatives are getting very impatient; lol!
[name]Delphine[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Hope[/name] and [name]Lorelai[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Starr[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Tallulah[/name]
[name]Arabella[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Hermione[/name] and [name]Cecelia[/name]
[name]Willow[/name] and [name]Celeste[/name]
[name]Alicia[/name] [name]Willow[/name] and [name]Serena[/name] [name]Isobel[/name]
[name]Romilly[/name] and [name]Ottilie[/name] sound perfect together! I love [name]Tilly[/name] and [name]Romy[/name] as nn’s and they don’t sound made up at all. I prefer them over any other names you’ve mentioned so I would stick with [name]Romilly[/name] [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Ottilie[/name] [name]Hope[/name].
I don’t really hear an issue with [name]Serena[/name] [name]Alice[/name] or [name]Serena[/name] [name]Collins[/name]. I like [name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Serena[/name] together a lot, and I’ve been favoring [name]Serenity[/name] more frequently as of late. I think [name]Ren[/name], Seri, or Rini could all work as alternatives to [name]Reena[/name] as nicknames. However, if [name]Serena[/name] isn’t working out, how about other names associated with peace/calmness:
[name]Mira[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name]
[name]Irene[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name]
[name]Irena[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name]
[name]Irina[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name] (“holy peacemaking, gentle friend”) — I adore the idea of [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Winnie[/name].
And if not those, maybe:
[name]Matilda[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name] – to get you [name]Tilly[/name]
[name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name] - to get you [name]Romy[/name]
[name]Romana[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name] - to get you [name]Romy[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Serena[/name] are nice as you can have aura or rory and seren so very nice…
Also i love the 2 names that you said your oh said seem to be made up they are soooo not infact they are amazing together fabulous twin names… and nicknames…
i know of a little girl well not so little about 13 called [name]Ottilie[/name] and she doesn’t get teased infact people wish they had her name!
other ideas… Ashalia and [name]Aurora[/name] - [name]Asha[/name]/[name]Ashe[/name] nd [name]Aura[/name]/rory/rora
Also [name]Letitia[/name] can be a nick name Leti or tish…
[name]Peyton[/name]- peyt
but i do love the 2 original names … xx
I like your idea of [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Hope[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name] for the bubbly twin
Have you considered names similar to [name]Serena[/name]? [name]How[/name] about [name]Carina[/name] [name]Alice[/name] for the quieter girl? nn [name]Cara[/name] ([name]Cara[/name] is Irish/Italian like [name]Rory[/name] and means friend/ dear one)
[name]Carina[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name] sound great together. [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Cara[/name]!
There is alliteration but it sounds fine: [name]Carina[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name].
I like [name]Aurora[/name] & [name]Romilly[/name], they have the same feel as [name]Imogen[/name]. I don’t think [name]Aurora[/name] needs a nn but [name]Rory[/name] & [name]Roma[/name] are nice
I cringed at [name]Heather[/name] & [name]Jane[/name], very 80s. If that’s hubby’s taste how about [name]Melanie[/name] or [name]Pamela[/name]? They are a bit fresher
Other dark/evening/night names
[name]Adriana[/name]
[name]Darcy[/name]
[name]Brenna[/name]
[name]Rhiannon[/name]
[name]Diana[/name]
[name]Esther[/name]
[name]Estelle[/name]/[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Leila[/name]/[name]Laila[/name]
[name]Artemis[/name]
Naming twin girls is certainly an experience isn’t it!? Here are some options that i put together, in hopes of helpng you out. I have bolded my favorites:
I love the name [name]Aurora[/name] and think it fits your bubbly twin. [name]How[/name] about:
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Geneva[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Arabella[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Violetta[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Leticia[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Anastasia[/name]
First of all, [name]Aurora[/name] & [name]Serena[/name] are wonderful together. [name]Serena[/name] [name]Alice[/name] [name]Collins[/name] is a bit ‘s’ heavy, but I wouldn’t let it be a deal breaker. [name]Serena[/name] [name]Collins[/name] is wonderful. If you can’t find a name you like better, I would stick to this beautiful sibset!
That said, I like a pps suggestion of [name]Helena[/name]… because [name]Aurora[/name] [name]Hope[/name] & [name]Helena[/name] [name]Alice[/name] gives [name]AH[/name] & HA initials, which I think is darling for twins!
Other suggestions:
[name]Paloma[/name] (dove/peace)
[name]Melina[/name] (honey) … both too ‘l’ heavy?
[name]Winona[/name] (first-born? was she?)
I also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Serena[/name] and think it sounds great with [name]Collins[/name]. I like [name]Aurora[/name] OK, but that is the one I would look at changing a little…like maybe [name]Serena[/name] and Rowenna…calling her Rowie is adorable! [name]Serena[/name] and [name]Ramona[/name]…that might be even better.
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Viv[/name] I think you gave her some great combos!
Eg [name]Juniper[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Alice[/name] (this is very good nn wise as you get the cute boyish nn’s of [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name])
and
[name]Bellamy[/name] or if you want a [name]Belle[/name] nn then [name]Isobel[/name] [name]Alice[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
I like [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Alice[/name] as a combo too, [name]Cleo[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name]
The twins sound gorgeous so you have to decide if you want a modern trendy name like [name]Bellamy[/name] or a more traditional style like [name]Maeve[/name].
I, too, like [name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Serena[/name] together. [name]Serena[/name] [name]Collins[/name] sounds fine. It’s the S sound at the end of both [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Collins[/name] that stands out to me more. I vote for keeping [name]Serena[/name].
