[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Everyone! I am so in need of help. My third son was born almost 3 weeks ago and I cannot find a name for him that I love. My older two are [name_m]Kane[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. I love [name_u]Everett[/name_u]’s name and can’t get that same feeling this time around. I don’t know if it’s postpartum hormones or my regular indecisiveness. Here’s what I’ve been thinking of:

I really like [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]! I [name_m]Layton[/name_m] but prefer the spelling [name_u]Leighton[/name_u]. I feel like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is bland compared to your boys.

I like [name_m]Layton[/name_m]/[name_u]Leighton[/name_u] with your other kids names! Second favorite is [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]. I do agree with pp that [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is a bit out of place with [name_m]Kane[/name_m] & [name_u]Everett[/name_u], but choose what you love!

Thanks for all of the suggestions, but I’m feeling as lost as ever. Our last name is [name_u]Douglas[/name_u], so it kind of rules out the names that end with an S ([name_m]Brooks[/name_m] [name_u]Douglas[/name_u] just sounds funny when you say it out loud) or am I over thinking it?
The more I hear [name_m]Layton[/name_m] the more I don’t think it’s right for me. I have been thinking more about [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], but my husband says no. Why can’t I find a name and fall in love with it?
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] are both lovely choices! I also love the pp’s suggestions of [name_m]Nolan[/name_m] and [name_m]Weston[/name_m]. And [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] was my first thought. [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_m]Kane[/name_m], and [name_m]Alistair[/name_m] has a nice ring to it!

I’d say either [name_m]Layton[/name_m] or [name_m]Wesley[/name_m]. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is too simple in comparison to the other boys’ names (at least for me). Of the two, I’m leaning towards [name_m]Layton[/name_m].
My first pick would have been [name_m]Layton[/name_m], with that spelling. But, if you’re not into it anymore, I do like [name_m]Westley[/name_m].
It kind of sounds like hormones. 3 weeks postpartum can get rough. Does your husband have a favorite ? Did you have one through pregnancy ? Is this maybe your last baby? Are you having trouble committing knowing that it’s your last time naming a newborn ? Also, make sure to remember that whichever name you select you will grow to love that name because of how much you love your son!

I agree to go with whatever you liked before he was born. My mom was regretful of her choice with me but I love my name and she did too after a few months. It seems like a normal reaction.
