so…

my husband and i have both loved and agreed on the name milla (pronounced meela) since early on in the pregnancy… however in just the past couple of weeks he has told me that he wants to spell it mila. that changes things for me, because i think people will call her myla, and i don’t love that pronunciation. he doesn’t want to spell it will two l’s because he thinks people will call her mill-a (which he dislikes more than myla). what are your thoughts on the spelling? our most recent fix was to name her camila with one l and call her mila… thinking that people will be less likely to mispronounce the name if it’s shorter for a different name (also her auntie’s name :slight_smile: ) let me know your thoughts! how would you spell milla? thanks for your help!

Personally, I would pronounce [name]Mila[/name] the way you want it: mee-la. I’d call a [name]Milla[/name] mill-a.

[name]Mila[/name] is the correct spelling. [name]Milla[/name] looks like Mill-uh. I would stick with the [name]Mila[/name] spelling. [name]Ive[/name] never heard of My-la so I dont think anyone would pronounce it that way. [name]Mila[/name] looks clean and correct to me.

thanks for your input… i have a couple of girlfriends with daughters named lila - prounounced lyla - so i thought maybe it was natural to prounounce myla. also i have seen it done both ways - ie mila kunis and milla jovovich - both pronounced meela!
