Help! Atticus or Guy?

So, I recognize these are a bit different from each other, but our top picks right now are:

[name_m]Guy[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]

Help! Which do you like? Any bad connotations?

Hubs just said [name_u]Jude[/name_u] sounds “pretentious and hippie” (?!)

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]?

Other suggestions?

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u] is very handsome. I also like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. And; [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]. I also adore [name_u]Gray[/name_u] as a first name, [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_u]Everett[/name_u], [name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u].

I hadn’t considered [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] or [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] because it seemed like too much of a mouthful, but I kind of like it. I really love [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], and my husband really loves [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]…So. Here’s the list we are working with now:

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] Cahill (Cahill is a family name)
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] Cahill
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]
[name_m]Guy[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (I fear that “[name_m]Guy[/name_m]” is just too generic…I have two boys, and find myself saying, “Come on, guys!” all the time)

I love [name_m]Guy[/name_m], so fresh and unused, and different without being weird or trendy. A new upper crusty british sounding name, a la [name_m]Jasper[/name_m]?

So I’d say go for [name_m]Guy[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]

Although Cahill is such a handsome middle name, and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] Cahill and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] Cahill are both great

I love [name_m]Guy[/name_m] (have a family I work with and their little boy is [name_m]Guy[/name_m]- aka- [name_m]Guy[/name_m]-[name_m]Guy[/name_m] to everyone who loves him) and I love [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Guy[/name_m] wins me over tho- refreshing!

Ps. I do love [name_m]Guy[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] too

My top three from your new list are; [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] Cahill, and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]. And I still love [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]. I am one that also says “Guys” all the time, and it’s not just used for boys/men, just a group of kids or people. “Hey guys, let’s order pizza.”, [name_m]just[/name_m] announced this about 1/2 an hour ago.

I wouldn’t use [name_m]Guy[/name_m].

I love love love [name_m]Guy[/name_m] but everyone I’ve asked is neutral about it. I like with the suggestion of [name_m]Guy[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], but [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Guy[/name_m] would work as well, given how some people are skeptical that [name_m]Guy[/name_m] could work as a name in English speaking countries, or any places where ‘guy/s’ means people or boy/s.

I guess, for me, it depends more on how [name_m]Guy[/name_m] is said. Is it the more English “guy” like the word, or like the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation, GHEE? I love the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation, but not so much the other.

I recently added [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] to my list (ironically, my combo is [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]! I love [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] and [name_u]Grey[/name_u]/[name_u]Gray[/name_u] together), though, so I’m obviously a huge fan of it. I think [name_f]Atti[/name_f] and [name_u]Gus[/name_u] are adorable nicknames. Without pronunciation aides, I would say [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] ([name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]/[name_u]Grey[/name_u]?), but I really like [name_m]Guy[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], too!

[name_m]Guy[/name_m] isn’t a name. [name_m]Guy[/name_m] is what you call someone when you can’t remember their name.

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]! Such a neat name. I like both [name_u]Gray[/name_u] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] for middles.

[name_m]Guy[/name_m] is a name that was very popular in the early 1900s…but thanks for your oh-so-helpful response

As to everyone else, I appreciate the opinions!I’ve gotten such good feedback. As much as I love [name_m]Guy[/name_m] (and it actually stems from a family name for us), I think we’re going to stick with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] or [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] and some variation.

I love the name [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]!!! But I feel with a name like that he needs something simple and short for a middle name.

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Guy[/name_m] - you could do. Incorporate the two names you love

I vote [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Guy[/name_m] would be so handsome!

Thank you! I really like it as well…I just can’t seem to commit.
