So far we are having 2 names on the list. [name_u]Michael[/name_u] or [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]. It’s a mixed race baby ( half Caucasian and half [name_f]Asian[/name_f] ) I think both names nice with the middle name and family name but I have a bit concern with both names.
[name_u]Michael[/name_u]: Very classic strong sounding with strong archangel meanings and it sounds better with the family name but the problem is the name too popular, too many people use it as it’s has been popular for generations.
[name_m]Raphael[/name_m]: Nice artistic and romantic sounding which I really love. Not too popular but maybe a bit too European since we don’t have anything related to Italian etc.
Please let me know what do you think? I really need some help with those two names.
I prefer [name_m]Raphael[/name_m], since it is less common. [name_u]Michael[/name_u] feels dated and even a bit boring to me. [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is very beautiful and has an air of intelligence. The artistic and archangel connections also add to the name.
I prefer [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]! I prefer both the feel and I like that it’s been far less used than [name_u]Michael[/name_u], but it’s still familiar.
Honestly either would work fine regardless of being mixed.
Micheal I think would get the nn of [name_m]Mike[/name_m] down the road, whereas [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] would probably stick as its full name or shorten to [name_m]Ralph[/name_m]. Would that effect your decision making?
I personally like [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] more, as I know alot of [name_m]Mike[/name_m]’s and Michaels.
My favourite is [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]. It’s really handsome and not as common. I don’t think you need to be “very European” to use it, and this isn’t even the Italian variant.
It has all the plus points of [name_u]Michael[/name_u] (classic, strong, archangel) but without the popularity issues, yet it’s still a familiar name used in many languages. I don’t think you need Italian heritage to use it – it’s a Hebrew name, ultimately, just like [name_u]Michael[/name_u].
Michael is a nice name but [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is so fun! I love [name_m]Raphael[/name_m]! Probably not brave enough to use it myself without Italian or Latino connection so I understand your qualms. I certainly don’t think theres any actual problem with using [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] though! If you love it, go bold with [name_m]Raphael[/name_m].
Both are really handsome, but [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] is less common and has this romantic sounding that [name_u]Michael[/name_u] hasn’t. [name_u]Rafe[/name_u], [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] or [name_m]Raffy[/name_m] are cute nicknames
Both names are classic and strong like many berries wrote already. I prefer [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] and I don’t think you need to be European to use it.
