Help! Baby girl due in 2 weeks

we have a 2 year old [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I’m nearly 38 weeks pregnant with DD #2 and we absolutely have to finalize her name. My husband loves [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I used to love it, but feel like it’s gotten a bit blah to me over the past few months… does [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] sound beautiful together/like a great sib set? I honestly cannot tell anymore. My other choice in the running is [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. Hard to let it go… hubs doesn’t think it’s classic enough and feels flimsy to him/and can’t imagine it aging well… he really wants [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] … and he wants us to figure this out ASAP since she could arrive anytime of course.

So I’m leaning toward going w [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I just hope i won’t regret it and might feel sad I didn’t push more for [name_f]Lila[/name_f]… although sometimes I’m not sure that is the perfect name either! I think i really struggle w letting go of a name I’ve had in my head…

Anyway, If we go w [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], trying to decide on middle name that sounds beautiful and offers me some cute nn options… I don’t want to call her [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] or [name_f]Lottie[/name_f].

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f] (not a perfect flow but i could still call her lila if i wanted to sometimes…)

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Laine[/name_u] (nn could be [name_f]Lainy[/name_f]… I like this better than [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] or [name_u]Charley[/name_u])

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] (mom and grandmas name… flows nicely but I don’t have a nn option I love here…)

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (I liked [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] for the other name option. Hubs doesn’t like [name_f]Claire[/name_f] for a 1st name…doesn’t know about nn here either but it flows nicely. [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t love CC as a nn…)

Any thoughts??? Ideas? I asked hubs what he thought of [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and he still said he liked [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] best for first name…

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you plan on having more children?

My top three options:
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - hubs could still call her [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] - nice meaning and you could call her [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Laine[/name_u] - fun nickname

I’d cross [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] off the list because I don’t think you like it as much as others.
FWIW I like [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] more than [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] feels very classic to me; it was my great grandmother’s name.

I really like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] on its own, with no middle name!

Charlotte is lovely and it does have a lot of elegance which fits with Vivian but you really dont seem to love it.
Charlotte Isabelle is pretty, maybe nn Libby?(Charlotte Isabelle?)
Charlotte Laine nn Lainey would be my next choice.

Suggestions:
Charlotte Louisa nn Lola
Charlotte Leona nn Cleo or Lola
Charlotte Eliza nn Lila
Charlotte Estelle nn Chessie

I do admit i like Lila with Vivian a lot though. It’s fresh and lively and feels substantial.

Not sure if it would work, but maybe something like:
Caroline Isabelle/a nn Lila
Eloise Charlotte nn Lola, Elle etc
Eliza Charlotte nn Lila (or maybe it sounds similar enough to Lila?)

Vote for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. I think it’s so beautiful and the flow is fine.

I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] sound perfect together, but I’m not convinced you love it. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] do sound lovely together as well, but not as much as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (not a dealbreaker, of course). You could just be going through a “weird patch” with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (this has happened with all of my favourite names in the past) or you could just really not love it anymore. And it’s really hard to decide in the moment which it is, unfortunately. I understand why you may not want to, but I’m going to go ahead and suggest that you wait to meet her and try both names out for a couple days each.

My personal favourites:
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] (I really like [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f])

Thank you for your thoughts! This is most likely our last child. I’m 37 and husband wants to stop at 2. I guess we could always be blessed w a third but I doubt that we will try for another… but you never know!

I agree, I think I’m going to tell my husband I want to wait until we get some time with her… But he really doesn’t love doing that because he thinks we will have enough going on and will be sleep deprived etc once she gets here … I see his point but I think I’ll feel better knowing we can change our minds once we meet we. Getting him to leave the hospital w out a name will be tough tho!

I think both [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] work beautifully as [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]'s sister. I would go with either [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (and he can still call her [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]) or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f] ( and you can still call her [name_f]Lila[/name_f] - and the flow is fine - not perfect, but fine).
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is a good option flow-wise, but it sounds like you’re not completely happy with this as you don’t get a nn you love. I feel for you in this dilemma and hope you end up with a name you love.

Have you considered an alternative name? [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] sounds overused next to vintage, v-heavy [name_u]Vivian[/name_u], while [name_f]Lila[/name_f] sound much more modern. I wonder if that’s why neither of you is crazy about the other’s choice?

My first thought was [name_f]Charlize[/name_f], which is part-classic [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], part-edgy with that striking z. Maybe looking for names similar to your favorites will give you a fresh start–or solidify a current favorite.

What about [name_f]Lola[/name_f] for a nickname for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]? I’ve heard it used before and it’s so close to [name_f]Lila[/name_f]?

To my ear, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is lovely, on its own and as a sister for [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]. I quite like the suggestion of [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname.

It occurred to me that [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] would also fit nicely and they also contain the strong “l” sounds you both seem to enjoy. Good luck!

[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] create a lovely set!! [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would be a great compromise, but I also adore [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Laine[/name_u] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a great suggestion. Other nickname options are: [name_f]Chi[/name_f], [name_f]Ettie[/name_f], [name_f]Carlie[/name_f], [name_u]Arlie[/name_u],…
What about [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]? [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] would be stunning!

My favorite sister to [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] is [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f].
I once met twins with these names and I thought it was a perfect sibset.

[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f]

I think either [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Lila[/name_f] would work well though too.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

I like the name [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], but it’s so popular right now. [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] just feels more unique. Here are some other names I feel would flow with [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and fit the style of [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but be less used:

[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_u]Marian[/name_u]

I personally much prefer [name_f]Lila[/name_f]/[name_f]Lilah[/name_f] with [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]! It has a classic-ish but fresh feel, where [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is super overused now and I feel like this makes it seem slightly boring. Also I don’t think you won’t be able to avoid the [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]/[name_f]Lottie[/name_f] nicknames, so if you don’t like them I would just avoid the name altogether.
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is nice, [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is nicer!
I saw you like the nickname [name_f]Lainy[/name_f], which I actually love! What if you went with [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Lainy[/name_f]?
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u] and [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] are lovely together
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps a bit, good luck!
