My partner and I are expecting a baby girl in [name_f]October[/name_f] and can’t find the perfect name. The names we liked are even starting to just sound old and boring now. We need some fresh ideas or encouragement to love some of the names we have! The middle name will be either [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] or [name_f]Marie[/name_f], unless there is a name we just can’t live without that doesn’t fit either of those. I love [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] and I really like [name_u]Emory[/name_u] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but I think a longer middle name would go better. It just looks too short. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Emory[/name_u] [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] or [name_u]Emory[/name_u] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]? But If you have a long last name then [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is good, but if you have a short last name, a longer middle name is better. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] is nice too, but I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] sounds nicer. Out of all your [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] option, [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] sounds best, but I think [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] is the nicest because [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is NMS.
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] is my favorite combination. The alliteration of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] is also appealing. I think I like it more than [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].

Also wanted to ask, what does the first letter of the baby’s surname begin with? That might rule out some combinations as having a middle A initial tends to spell words (sometimes neutral, sometimes bad!).

I don’t like [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], [name_u]Halle[/name_u], [name_u]Emory[/name_u] nor [name_u]Avery[/name_u] at all. They all lack strength and sound trendy and boring (ouch…sorry). I like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] if you like something that is pretty and “current”…if you know what I mean. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] are very beautiful names. I love both with [name_f]Marie[/name_f] as a mn. Your clear winners are [name_f]Norah[/name_f] (but I think [name_f]Norah[/name_f] sounds far better with [name_f]Marie[/name_f] than [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]), and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (and again, I would pair it with [name_f]Marie[/name_f] over [name_u]Ashley[/name_u]). My personal faves from your list are [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. These names are unique, but not unusual. They go well with the middle names you have. And I feel like they have substance. And they don’t have the kind of nickname that is becoming more common like [name_f]Addy[/name_f], [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].

Thank you everyone for the suggestions-sorry to be so quiet after posting but my Firefox stopped allowing me to post! It seems like Adelaide, Rowan, Ellis and Hallie are the top choices from the list so far. I think we are set on Rowan Ashley if she comes out with red hair, which is a good possibility!
Our last name is hyphenated C-M, so quite long, which is why are going for shorter middle names at least.
I like Maisie, but probably would do Maci instead. I’m not sure which is my clear favorite, that’s the problem. None of them are WOWING me anymore.
My niece was born yesterday and they named her Maera (Mara) and I love it. I want to love the name we choose and I’m just not there yet.
