HELP!!! Big bro Nolan, what name for lil bro do you like??

35 weeks and it’s driving me crazy to not have a first name chosen.

Middle name: [name]Louis[/name]

Big brother: [name]Nolan[/name]

Names on our list:

[name]Love[/name] these two, but…are [name]Evan[/name] and [name]Tyler[/name] turning into girl names?? I don’t want my son to ever think he has a girl name. Please share your opinion!

[name]Nicolas[/name]

[name]Collin[/name]

[name]Brogan[/name]

[name]Griffin[/name]

[name]Kellan[/name]

Thanks for your help!!

[name]Nolan[/name] is so handsome! All your options are fabulous–I can’t really choose one! I think [name]Kellan[/name] or [name]Brogan[/name] would get my vote, though. I think they work well with [name]Nolan[/name]. I think [name]Brogan[/name] [name]Louis[/name] sounds better than [name]Kellan[/name] [name]Louis[/name]. I do love [name]Evan[/name] [name]Louis[/name], and [name]Nolan[/name] and [name]Evan[/name] are handsome together, but I do think people are talking about [name]Evan[/name] more on girls. I can’t really see it, but with [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] Woods I do think it might have shot up a bit in popularity…

Good luck!

i like evan best with your son’s name.
then nicholas (though i usually don’t go for matchy first letters i love this name), then tyler, then colin.
if tyler and evan are going to be used as girl names, i think it will be fairly sporadic and they will remain predominantly male. unlike finley, (which i would love to use…sigh), they are decidedly masculine and an odd choice for a girl imo.
i’m on the west coast of canada and tyler and evan are in the top 50 for boys and not even on the radar for girls.
good luck.

[name]Evan[/name] and [name]Collin[/name] are my first picks! [name]Love[/name] them. [name]Tyler[/name] and [name]Nicholas[/name] would be next.

I don’t see [name]Evan[/name] or [name]Tyler[/name] turning into girls names. I have a male cousin called [name]Evan[/name], and I can think of a two or three other male [name]Evans[/name] of various ages. But other than [name]Evan[/name] [name]Rachel[/name] Woods, I’ve never heard of a girl with the name. As for [name]Tyler[/name], I’m a teacher and know several boys with the name but no girls. I do think [name]Tyler[/name] feels a little dated, but it certainly doesn’t feel feminine. Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it. [name]Even[/name] if a few girls pick up on the names, they’re both still perfectly acceptable names for boys. My picks for you:

[name]Evan[/name] [name]Louis[/name]
[name]Griffin[/name] [name]Louis[/name]

I like [name]Griffin[/name] the best, but have you considered [name]Nixon[/name]? It goes well with [name]Nolan[/name].

I like [name]Tyler[/name] best from your list. I would avoid names ending in N as they sound too similar/matchy with [name]Nolan[/name]. I’d also nix [name]Nicholas[/name] as I wouldn’t want 2 names starting with the same letter and they are quite different in style. Here are some other suggestions…

[name]Nolan[/name] and _______
[name]Carter[/name]
[name]Breck[/name]
[name]Brock[/name]
[name]Cooper[/name]
[name]Fraser[/name]
[name]Gage[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Miles[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Parker[/name]

[name]Evan[/name] [name]Louis[/name] is great, and I love [name]Evan[/name] as a brother for [name]Nolan[/name].

Out of curiosity, are you pronouncing [name]Louis[/name] [lou-iss] or [lou-ee]? My grandfather’s name is [name]Louis[/name] and he’s always been [lou-iss] so I get confused.

[name]Griffin[/name] [name]Louis[/name] gets my vote. Very nice!
I know girls named [name]Evan[/name] & [name]Tyler[/name], but I wouldn’t classify them as girl names (ever.)

Thanks for the responses and opinions! I’m thinking we will narrow our list to [name]Evan[/name], [name]Collin[/name] & [name]Kellan[/name]. My hubby decided he isn’t crazy about [name]Griffin[/name] or [name]Nicolas[/name]. We can’t decide about [name]Brogan[/name]. Whenever we mention that name people ask if we made it up…nope. Does it sound made up??

[name]Louis[/name] is pronounced as it appears: [name]Lou[/name]-iss
