Help! Boy and girl sibs for Asher(m) and Eliana(f)

I’m currently expecting my third bub, though not due for quite sometime I’m already stewing over names!
[name]Asher[/name] and [name]Eliana[/name] are both Hebrew in origin, but I don’t necessarily want to go down the biblical path (too matchy, though depends on name choice).

Hubby likes [name]Jimmy[/name] for a boy but I feel it is a bit too casual and overused as a ‘go-to’ name in fiction (the fun, carefree version of [name]John[/name]), and it doesn’t go with the other two, which he thankfully has conceded! I like [name]Jesse[/name], because it has a similar theme without being too bible-y, however, it’s also my nephew’s name, so could be confusing. For a girl I have always liked [name]Hazel[/name] - but that doesn’t seem to fit either. My other thought would be [name]Joy[/name], after my grandmother.

I would love suggestions for names that go! My preferences are for names that sound really soft when spoken, with no ‘hard’ or ‘harsh’ sounds - I love names that just feel like they flow out of your mouth in a breath - if that doesn’t sound too loopy!

Anyway, looking forward to reading suggestions!

Boy:

[name]Phineas[/name] (Phin/[name]Finn[/name])
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Seth[/name]
[name]Simon[/name]
[name]Paul[/name]
[name]Amos[/name]
[name]Leon[/name]
[name]Lucien[/name]
[name]Philip[/name]
[name]Louis[/name]

Girl:

[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Faith[/name]
[name]Mariah[/name]
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Portia[/name]
[name]Abra[/name]
[name]Leah[/name]
[name]Sela[/name]
[name]Tabitha[/name]

Oh! Also

[name]Celeste[/name]

While I recognize them as Hebrew, I don’t think most people will necessarily make that connection, and I really don’t think most people will lump [name]Asher[/name] or [name]Eliana[/name] in with Biblical names that spring quickly to mind ([name]Abraham[/name], [name]Isaac[/name], etc). So many traditional Biblical names like [name]James[/name] and [name]John[/name] are arguably not as associated with their source as they are with generally classic boys names. I think you’ve got a lot of nice wiggle room, basically.

Great list from the pp. What about [name]Asher[/name], [name]Eliana[/name], and…

[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] or [name]Alyssa[/name]
[name]Romilly[/name] (nn [name]Romy[/name] or [name]Milly[/name])
[name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Margot[/name] (is that G too harsh?)
[name]Cecile[/name] or [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name] or [name]Lucienne[/name] (nn [name]Lucy[/name])
[name]Madeleine[/name]/[name]Madelaine[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Suzanne[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Sylvie[/name]

[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Colin[/name]
[name]Emmett[/name]
[name]Bennett[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Cyrus[/name] or [name]Silas[/name]
[name]Warren[/name]

Good luck!

I’d stick with the vowels and try things with I, O, or U.

GIRLS
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Ivana[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Uma[/name]

BOYS
[name]Ira[/name]
[name]Owen[/name]
[name]Oliver[/name]

There are so many I, O and U names on the site I bet you’d find one you love!

Thanks so much for the replies, sorry I’ve taken so long to hop back on here! I like [name]Noah[/name] - I think that would fit really well with the other two. [name]Leo[/name] is totally adorable too! I have always loved [name]Isla[/name] for a girl but now that I have an [name]Eliana[/name] I feel it is a bit similar :frowning: the same with [name]Oriana[/name] -SUCH a gorgeous name! I do like the vintagey feel of [name]Miriam[/name] and [name]Ada[/name] too! So much to think about! [name]One[/name] name that has been on my list for my first two is [name]Ari[/name], which could work for a boy or a girl, I guess. [name]Just[/name] as well I still have plenty of time! Thanks everyone, sorry I’m not very diligent with the whole forum thing!
