I’m due in a few weeks and the boy name I picked out (which I previously loved) has now started to sound wrong with my surname… can anyone help me out and give me your honest opinion on the below name:
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] Toua (not real surname but sounds like)
Is there anything wrong with that name which jumps out at you? Partner is very easygoing and doesn’t mind either way… I don’t know the gender yet so all this worry may be in vain haha…
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. But if you’re worried, maybe you can find a name that you think goes better with your last name so you have a short list and decide after you meet your baby. I’m only just expecting my first baby, but my brother and his wife had a similar situation with their baby girl. They had picked out a name they both loved, but weren’t sure if it would work. After the baby was born they tried calling her that name and right away realized it was definitely wrong so they picked another name they had previously considered.
Thanks for your reply… My worry is that the name sounds a bit too similar to a character from literature and pop culture… you didn’t mention it so hoping that maybe it’s in my head… thanks anyway
I think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] Toua sounds fine, and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a lovely name. It’s possible that this is just natural last-minute nerves/uncertainty before baby arrives, especially if you’ve loved the name [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] for a while. Still, no harm in waiting to make the ultimate decision until after you meet him. Good luck!
I think I know the character, but I wouldn’t realized if you hadn’t say anything. Plus, [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a great name and I also have the same concern about my [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] combo, but I think the similarity is only in our head.
Okay. I wondered if there was a very, very slim chance you were talking about [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] Twist, even though I do not think they sound similar at all. You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
