Hello! I’m looking for help in trying to find names that both my fiance and I like. I don’t think either of us exactly have a ‘style’ we prefer. I tend to like Bible/Traditional names, he hates almost all of them. He likes more unique names. Here are some we both like-
Girls-
[name]Cora[/name] - (We both love this one)
[name]Sol[/name]- This is my new favorite but he is not quite sold yet!
[name]Zaviera[/name]- pronounced Zay-vee-air-uh, nn Zavi
[name]Lola[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] it for a little girl, wish we could picture it on someone grown!
Boys-
[name]Kade[/name]- We’ve liked this one for a while now.
[name]Xavier[/name]- He loves, I don’t really like ‘x’ names.
Zealand- My top choice- unique and original yet familiar. nn [name]Zea[/name]. Hes warming up to it!
[name]Makani[/name]- pronounced muh-KAH nee, we both really like this one as well.
We are into layed back names you could picture on a little blonde or red head surfer boy/girl. If we can see that, we usually love the name!

It sounds like you guys actually agree on a good number of names, from the comments on your list. Personally, your names are NMS but it’s a good list with some nice names. [name]Lola[/name] and [name]Xavier[/name] are my favorites.

I agree; it sounds like you’re on the right track! You don’t need a top ten list–you really only need one brilliant, beloved choice for either gender (until [name]Baby[/name] #2 anyway).
I think [name]Lola[/name] works well on older people as well as kids. I mean, most [name]Lola[/name]‘s are probably grandmothers right now, and the name seems to have weathered with them well. I know an older [name]Lola[/name]–totally a real, enduring name. It would be my number one pick for you, too–laid-back, vibrant, full of personality. I think [name]Sol[/name] is rather short and masculine (I’ve only ever heard it on boys and NB lists it as a boys’ name). That said, I think it would sound ok on a girl as a nickname for [name]Soleil[/name] (French for “sun”) or [name]Marisol[/name]. I’m in love with the name [name]Cora[/name], but I don’t see it on a laid-back surfer kid at all (that’s my personal feeling for the name, though). [name]Zaviera[/name] looks like the sort of name that she’ll have to spell out to people her whole life… Zavi’s cute, though. Suggestions: [name]Suri[/name], [name]Lyra[/name], [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Zora[/name] (as a mix of [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Zaviera[/name] with great literary cred), [name]Maren[/name], [name]Calla[/name], [name]Thalia[/name]/[name]Talia[/name], [name]Kyra[/name] or [name]Cyra[/name], [name]Cleo[/name], [name]Fallon[/name], or [name]Tallulah[/name] (nn [name]Tali[/name] or [name]Lula[/name]).
I like Zealand the best for the reasons you mention–unusual as a name, but familiar. [name]Kade[/name] and [name]Makani[/name] seem really trendy to me (esp. [name]Kade[/name] with a K), but if you both like them, then that shouldn’t stand in the way at all–they do have a surfer vibe. Suggestions: [name]Galen[/name] (maybe nn [name]Gale[/name]?), [name]Jett[/name], Ezekial (nn [name]Zeke[/name]), [name]Kai[/name], [name]Bay[/name], [name]Ari[/name] or [name]Arlo[/name], [name]Dominic[/name], or [name]Zander[/name]?
I like [name]Cora[/name] (very pretty) and [name]Xavier[/name] (so handsome) from your list and want to suggest [name]Soleil[/name] instead of [name]Sol[/name]. [name]Sol[/name] is a boys name to me, and [name]Soleil[/name] (so-lay) is the girls and it’s so pretty!
I really love [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Lola[/name]! They are both gorgeous. I like [name]Kade[/name], but with all the [name]Caden[/name]'s out there, you hear it a lot. I also like [name]Xavier[/name].
