Rosabel is one of the most beautiful names I know.
Thanks so much for all your comments. It’s definitely Rosabel [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] Rosabel & I’m starting to sway more back to Rosabel as a first name.
I think it’s pretty, feminine & unusual. I do like the spelling [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] belle but as our surname is [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], worried about too many “L’s”.
But thanks so much for all your comments & yes I’m British & over here chavy, does mean low class, kind of tacky. I think my family didn’t like it, as over here we do have names that are associated with low class like [name_f]Chardonnay[/name_f] & [name_f]Chantelle[/name_f], but I still like it & don’t care.
You are aware -el- sounds runs a bit in Rosabel [name_f]El[/name_f]lison? I don’t think it’s a problem, but I’m pointing this so you won’t be stunned when potential problems arise. Maybe there wouldn’t be any problems, just a heads up.
Rosabel is a beautiful name. It is not chavy at all. I don’t know why anyone would think that!
I agree - go with your heart! This is your baby after all, not theirs!
If you were really keen to appease everyone else, however, you could always put [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] / [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], etc, on her birth certificate and just call her Rosabel - it’s whatever works for you at the end of the day!
Good luck
Thanks yeah I am aware Rosabel [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] could be a bit of a mouthful, on that basis do you think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] ( [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]) [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] would be better?
I did think a nn of [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], might b a bit tricky… Although my name is [name_f]Melanie[/name_f] & I get called [name_u]Mel[/name_u] [name_u]Ellison[/name_u] all the time & don’t have any issues…
Definitely go with the name you and her father love. People come and go, and like others have said, once the name is associated with your daughter, I doubt they’ll have a problem with it. Go with Rosabel!
