Help, conflicted :(

I’m trying to name characters for a new idea I’m developing. The overall idea is that it’s from a seventeen year old male’s (unnamed) POV, and he falls for this fantastic girl (also unnamed) she’s beautiful, got a killer body, quirky and fun to be around and makes him generally happy. Problem is, she’s his best friend [name]Jackson[/name]'s girlfriend. (The ending is not as cliche and predicted as the main idea.)

I can’t figure out the perfect name for the main boy and girl. Well, I kind of can, but theres a huge problem with that. I love [name]Simon[/name] for the boy, and [name]Simone[/name] for the girl. I obviously can’t use both. I’ve never liked either of these names, but when I was searching and stumbled across [name]Simone[/name] it felt perfect. Then I realized [name]Simon[/name] feels perfect for the both too.

Which do you think I should use? Other ideas for their names would be:
[name]Stella[/name], [name]Dorothy[/name], [name]Cecile[/name] or [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Leona[/name], or [name]Ramona[/name].
[name]Solomon[/name], [name]Zachary[/name], [name]Abraham[/name], [name]Mitch[/name], or [name]Wesley[/name].

Any other ideas for these two?

I think [name]Simone[/name] is perfect for the girl. No other name is needed in my opinion

For the boy, I like [name]Zachary[/name], [name]Evan[/name], and [name]Damian[/name]. Could you give a little more description of the boy’s personality?

I really like [name]Simon[/name]. Its so underused.
[name]Simone[/name] seems a bit pretentious to me but its not my character. I really like [name]Cecily[/name].

Is it set in present time?

If they’re 17 right about now that means that they were born right around '94. So to get a feel for the style of names then I’d look at the lists for that year. [name]Simone[/name] and [name]Simon[/name] are 486 and 356 respectively.

Names that give me that quirky, fun, desirable girl feel:
[name]Lexie[/name], [name]Lacey[/name], [name]Zoe[/name], [name]Karly[/name], [name]Ashlyn[/name]

Stella (not used in 94, too “Streetcar Named Desire”), Dorothy (549, grandma, [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name]), Cecile or Cecily (okay, kinda pretentious like [name]Simone[/name], is she French?), Leona (not used in 94), or Ramona (the Brave, kids book, not used in 94).

I kinda like [name]Simon[/name] for a guy, not overused but not too “look I’m a character who’s like X”. Similar in feel to me are: [name]Andrew[/name] ([name]Andy[/name]/[name]Drew[/name]), [name]Gabe[/name], [name]Spencer[/name] ([name]Spence[/name]).
