I’m now only 11days from my due date with baby girl #2, and my husband and I cannot agree on a name! Our eldest daughter’s name is [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] ([name_u]James[/name_u] is her Dad’s first name) and I adore it. It’s so hard to find a name that goes with it, but is not too “matchy”. Since [name_f]Cora[/name_f] got Daddy’s first name I wanted to give her [name_f]Sister[/name_f] Dad’s middle name (Kincaid) or a family name at least. Here’s what we have so far…
[name_f]Jaqueline[/name_f] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] (Husband’s first choice and my Dad’s name as a middle)
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] Kincaid (Husband’s 2nd choice)
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] Kincaid (THIS IS MY [name_m]FAVORITE[/name_m]! Hubs not on board. He thinks [name_f]Cora[/name_f] and [name_f]Mara[/name_f] are too similar)
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] Kincaid (My second fav)
We like simple, strong names, with nothing too crazy or trendy (I’m a [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] from the 80’s). I like classic names also. Any suggestions you have would be very appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!
I like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] a lot. I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] & [name_f]Eve[/name_f] go together best. I have never been a fan of [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] as it conjures images of elephants. I also prefer [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] to [name_f]Jaqueline[/name_f] although I know they’re not super similar. Perhaps you would both like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] as it has elements of [name_f]Jaqueline[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
I adore [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], but a good friend of mine just named her daughter that, so it’s out. I like [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] a lot, but only if it’s short for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and hubs won’t go for it! I’m only worried about the similarity of [name_f]EVE[/name_f] to [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f] (both super popular right now)…
I like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] the best. Strong, simple and classic. [name_f]Mara[/name_f] is also beautiful but I agree with your husband that [name_f]Mara[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are very similar.
My favorite is [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] Kincaid. I don’t like [name_u]Michael[/name_u] as a girls name. [name_f]Mara[/name_f] does seem too matchy. I don’t love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] but I’m not sure why. Others:
