[name]Just[/name] in the TTC phase, but am excited to start naming! I have been searching and searching, but have not found many names we both like. Big brothers are Kuyper (a surname - rhythms with hyper) [name]Aaron[/name] and [name]Zane[/name] [name]Henry[/name]. Middle name is likely to be [name]Miles[/name], but can change for the right name. Our last name is [name]Rush[/name]. We only have 2 on “the list.”
[name]Phineas[/name] (Phin/[name]Finn[/name]) Top choice of all [name]Finn[/name] type names. -DH pick
[name]Flynn[/name] -My pick
Others we like, but one of us does not love or can’t use
[name]Dexter[/name] ([name]Dex[/name])
[name]Atticus[/name] ([name]Ace[/name])
[name]Owen[/name] (too common)
[name]Leyton[/name] (love, but hate unisex names!)
[name]Finley[/name] (again, love but hate that it has gone to the girls)
[name]Elias[/name] ([name]Eli[/name])
[name]Moses[/name] (mo)
[name]Levi[/name]
[name]Judah[/name]
[name]Hudson[/name]
[name]Thaddeus[/name] ([name]Thad[/name])
[name]Griffin[/name]
[name]Finn[/name] (does not really go with our last name, but could work as NN)
[name]Finnegan[/name]
[name]Finnian[/name]
Finnick (yeah, we looked at all [name]Finn[/name] names, lol)
We live in a small town and I worked at the k-12 school, so LOTS of name won’t work for us, so please send lots of ideas our day!!! [name]TIA[/name]
I’m not going to lie, I love Finnick. It’s actually number 2 on my list and my favorite way to get [name]Finn[/name]. The other ones on your list that I like are [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Finley[/name] (how is this girly??), [name]Elias[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Judah[/name], [name]Hudson[/name], I like [name]Phineas[/name] and [name]Finnegan[/name] much more than [name]Flynn[/name], sorry! [name]Phineas[/name] doesn’t sound good with [name]Miles[/name], to me. I like [name]Finnegan[/name], [name]Judah[/name], [name]Hudson[/name], and [name]Finley[/name] with [name]Miles[/name].
I love [name]Flynn[/name] and [name]Phineas[/name]! I still need more courage to use [name]Phineas[/name] though. Maybe I’ll work into it [name]Flynn[/name] sounds so laid back and fun to me. Still trying to convince hubby. My husband is also a teacher, so we have a hard time finding names without bad/strong associations. Good luck!
With Kuyper and [name]Zane[/name], I like [name]Phineas[/name] much better than [name]Flynn[/name]. From the list of names you’re not using, I also love [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Owen[/name], [name]Levi[/name], [name]Judah[/name], [name]Thaddeus[/name] and [name]Finnian[/name].
Other ideas (not all of these are necessarily awesome with [name]Miles[/name], but you may like them anyway):
I actually like [name]Flynn[/name] better with Kuyper and [name]Zane[/name]. What would worry be about [name]Finn[/name] is that it matches with [name]Zane[/name] (sound/length-wise), but is quite different from Kuyper. Have you considered [name]Finbar[/name]? Kuyper, [name]Zane[/name] and [name]Finbar[/name]/[name]Finn[/name] sounds very good to me.
[name]How[/name] about
[name]Jonah[/name] in stead of [name]Judah[/name]
[name]Lenn[/name] in stead of [name]Finn[/name] (perhaps through [name]Lennox[/name])
[name]Daxton[/name] in stead of [name]Dexter[/name] and [name]Leyton[/name]
[name]Cassius[/name] or [name]Julius[/name] in stead of [name]Atticus[/name]
[name]Amos[/name] in stead of [name]Moses[/name] (Can still have [name]Mo[/name] or [name]Ace[/name])
Of how about [name]Florian[/name] nn [name]Flynn[/name]? Or [name]Calvin[/name] nn [name]Vin[/name]?
Good luck!
According to the SSA… [name]Finley[/name] for girls appeared in 2005 at #985 and as of 2011 is #364. Boys appeared in 2006 at #860 and is currently 511. Once a name goes to the girls it never seems to turn back…
