Help deciding on a first name for baby girl

Hello! We have 3 baby girl names to decide between, please help! We will likely do 2 middle names that lean more feminine.

  • [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]
  • [name_u]Evren[/name_u]
  • Sloan(e)

I love [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]! The other two I’d completely assume male.

[name_u]Evren[/name_u] is my favourite. The name conjures starry skies and elven princesses! There are so many nickname options she could use too.

I shall be different to everyone else.I prefer [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. I have met a couple of girls named [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], never a boy. [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] makes me think of the [name_m]Lone[/name_m] [name_u]Ranger[/name_u], for some reason. It doesn’t sound attractive to me. But, it’s your baby and your choice.

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is my favourite!

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]!

Tough choice!

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is soft and gentle but rugged too. I like the link to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] (Ellis Bell)

[name_u]Evren[/name_u] is magical and powerful in meaning

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is so distinctive, charming and cool!

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is probably my favourite, I think

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is my pick!

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]!

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is so cool. I like that one the best

Another vote for [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]!

I like [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] / [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] best, but [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] would be my second choice.

ditto

[name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] are male to me. [name_u]Evren[/name_u], I guess.

I like the name [name_u]Evren[/name_u] the best - I recently suggested it (successfully) to a real life baby boy (my friend’s kid). Its advantage is that it’s not that common in English-speaking countries so people won’t be surprised at it being used on a girl the same way they might with [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] (where they might pronounce it [name_f]Elise[/name_f] for eg at first go). [name_u]Evren[/name_u] doesn’t have any major baggage in other words, and I love [name_f]Evvy[/name_f] as a nn. [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is fun to say though and has a lovely, tailored quality. [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] seems the most immediately feminine to me and it has preppy associations, but it’s sluggish to me. [name_u]Evren[/name_u] or [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] would be my pick!

Thanks everyone! Maybe we’ll use 2 or three of them…

I like that [name_u]Evren[/name_u] and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] have obvious nickname options. I’m a little stuck on the lack of nicknames for Sloan(e). Any suggestions there?

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite would be [name_u]Evren[/name_u], but the fact it’s the name of a gigantic snake-dragon puts me off to use it in real life. I think out from these I’d choose [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. I’d personally prefer to change [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] into Elise/ [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]. And [name_u]Evren[/name_u] into [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]. :sparkles:
