Help deciding

We’ve decided on middle names as “Ivy Elsie” as a double middle name and Morgan as the surname, not sure on the first name. Want something that is equal parts cute as a baby, able to be shortened as a teenager for nicknames and sounds professional as an adult. Vote below or leave extra suggestions

  • Ophelia
  • Eleanor
  • Elizabeth

From your description, I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] fits best! She has a plethora of nicknames and fits any age.

I like the idea of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for you as well, but as [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] originates from [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], in a name combo together they feel a bit repetitive.

[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] works best to me  It’s cute and floral, gives you nicknames [name_f]Lia[/name_f], Phee, [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Olia[/name_f], Phia, and [name_m]Ollie[/name_m], and sounds elegant and sophisticated too.

[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] sounds nice too.

[name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]: plenty of great nicknames, sweet for a baby, perfectly elegant and versatile.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] works - the double [name_f]El[/name_f] ---- [name_f]El[/name_f] throws me a bit but it’s not bad.

I don’t mind [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - a lovely name - but since [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is a variation of it, I prefer the other options

I think [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] fits all of your criteria perfectly. [name_m]Plenty[/name_m] of cute nicknames, but also sounds professional on an adult. (Elizabeth would have worked, except it’s bothering me that [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is originally a nickname for Elizabeth.)

I think [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] would also work really well, if you want a suggestion.

Like others have said, I would immediately rule out [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] since [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is a derivative of it. The double [name_f]El[/name_f]- of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is throwing me off. That leaves [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], which is beautiful, but the tragic character makes it hard for me to “see” it on a happy baby. It would age fine, though.

Other ideas:

[name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]

didn’t realise there was the relationship between [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] tbh, thank you for your suggestions!
