Help! Due in March and can't agree!

We are due with our third baby in [name]March[/name], gender unknown. DH and I didn’t have too hard a time with boys names, but we are struggling for girls. He doesn’t like my favorites and the names he likes are too popular for my taste, although I do think they are alright. I like names that sound familiar but aren’t really popular. Big sisters are [name]Brigid[/name] [name]Ceaira[/name] (pn like [name]Sierra[/name]), nn [name]Bea[/name], and [name]Camilla[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name], nn [name]Milly[/name]. Last name is Bonner. We are very much nickname people, so nickname potential doesn’t hurt. [name]Both[/name] of our other girls’ names have some sort of significance to us (we got pregnant with [name]Brigid[/name] when visiting [name]Ireland[/name] and my husband’s side is heavily Irish, and [name]Milly[/name] was my husband’s grandma’s nn) so if it works we could get something in a first or middle, although it wouldn’t be a deal breaker by any means. [name]Both[/name] DH and I have the middle name [name]Lee[/name]/[name]Leigh[/name], so some variation of that? Or my dad’s middle name is [name]Lynn[/name], so a variation of that in a name? Or grandma’s middle name is [name]Lou[/name] and [name]SIL[/name]'s middle is [name]Louise[/name], so we’ve joked about [name]Louise[/name] or [name]Louisa[/name] for a middle, although family/friends we’ve talked to dislike those.

Help!

My favorites -
[name]Emeline[/name]/[name]Emalyn[/name] - ties in the [name]Lynn[/name] from my father
[name]Genevieve[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] or Vieve - only common one on our lists, and neither of us is sure if it is “the one”
[name]Imogen[/name] - DH doesn’t like it at all though
[name]Rosalie[/name] - to tie in the leigh/lee of our middles, although DH doesn’t really like this one either. Sigh. [name]Little[/name] [name]Rose[/name]/[name]Rosie[/name] would be cute.
[name]Violet[/name]/[name]Violette[/name] - Again he doesn’t like it. I think a little [name]Lettie[/name] would be sweet.

DH’s favorites -

[name]Amelia[/name] - several friends kids with this name
[name]Clara[/name] - have several friends kids with this name
[name]Elizabeth[/name] - I like it, yet its a little too formal for me maybe? [name]Just[/name] isn’t clicking yet.
[name]Genevieve[/name] - he is okay with it.
[name]Isabel[/name]/[name]Isobel[/name] - I like it but [name]WAY[/name] too popular.
[name]Lisbeth[/name] - I want to like it… but for some reason its just not clicking yet.
[name]Lucy[/name] - I’d like this more as a nn for a more formal [name]Luc[/name] name but DH pretty well hates all the longer versions I come up with.
[name]Madelyn[/name] - know several Madisons and this just might be too close for me.

Others we have talked about that are possibilities -
[name]Alice[/name] - I like, but afraid it will get [name]EVEN[/name] MORE popular. And I know several little girls called [name]Ali[/name] running around. But I do like it.
[name]Amelie[/name] - suggested this instead of [name]Amelia[/name]… he is unsure
[name]Anastasia[/name]
[name]Annalie[/name]
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Greta[/name]
[name]Lisbeth[/name]
[name]Luciana[/name] - I suggested this as a more formal version with nn [name]Luc[/name]
[name]Maribel[/name]
[name]Roslyn[/name] - his suggestion to my [name]Rosalie[/name], but it is a bit stuffy for me.

I sent him a few more, but I’ve yet to hear back. We’ve been avoiding discussing it since we are just getting so frustrated!!!

Thanks!

From your list I like:
[name]Emeline[/name] or [name]Emalyn[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] or Vieve, since you like the nn [name]Evie[/name] have you considered [name]Evelyn[/name]? You both seem to like more classical names he likes the more popular and you like less popular, so maybe [name]Evelyn[/name] would work and it also has ties to the [name]Lynn[/name] that has family significance?

From his list I liked:
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Madelyn[/name] (I don’t think that it’s too close to [name]Madison[/name], imo)

From ones that y’all have discussed as possibilites I like:
[name]Anastasia[/name], you could do [name]Anastasia[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] or [name]Anastasia[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Annalie[/name]

[name]How[/name] about [name]Lucy[/name] as a middle name to honour grandmother and [name]SIL[/name]?

I love Genevieve nn Evie.
From your list I like Emmeline and from his list I like Amelia.

Amelia alternatives: Aurelia, Adalia, Abelia, Odelia, Adelia, Celia, Cecelia, Cordelia, Ophelia, Thalia, Azalea
To get to Lucy: Lucienne (one of my favorites!) or Lucia
Like Elizabeth: Elise, Eliza, Liza, Elyse,
Like Alice: Carys, Iris, Agnes, Ellis, Frances, Lois
Like Violet: Hazel, Ruby, Ivy, Iris, Senna, Zinnia, Calla

Other suggestions
Lydia nn Lydie (close to Lettie nn you like)
Linnea (prn. li-NAY-ah, some what has the Lynn sound in the beginning)
Hadley (lee sound at the end)
Elysia (reminds me of Amelia)
Eden or Edith with nn Edie
Anneliese or Anya (my favorite “Anna/Ana” names since you like Anastasia and Annalie thought I would mention these)
Rosemary or Rosemarie or Rose-Marie (I actually just prefer the name Rose to all it’s longer versions. Rose is beautiful as it is and since there isn’t an agreement on any of the longer version I thought I would through that out there.)
Eliana (saw Elodie and thought of this)
Leonie (prn. lee-oh-nee so it has that “lee” sound you are looking for)
Marilyn (lyn ending and a bunch of cute nn like Merry, Mare, Lynnie, Mari)

Have you considered Leelynn as a middle name to connect both?

From your list I like [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Violet[/name]. From your husbands list I like [name]Clara[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name]. From your maybe list I like [name]Alice[/name], [name]Annalie[/name], [name]Elodie[/name], and [name]Anastasia[/name]. I like the suggestion of [name]Lucy[/name] as a middle name to honor [name]Louise[/name] and [name]Lou[/name]. What about [name]Anneliese[/name]? It has the “lee” sound, honors a [name]Louise[/name], and you could incorporate [name]Lynn[/name] into the middle name somehow?

I love the names [name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name] (if that is too formal you could try [name]Lizabeth[/name]), and [name]Roslyn[/name]. But there are no names on that list that I don’t like, they all have a perfect balance of originality and beauty.

@jtucker - I had [name]Evelyn[/name] on our long list. DH said it was too old sounding. I agree it would take care of both the [name]Lynn[/name] and the nn!!

@ireland - I actually hadn’t thought of [name]Lucy[/name] as a [name]Lou[/name] type name, but it might work to honor my grandma, you are right!

@dannikelli - Quite a few of your alternatives were on my long list of names I loved. [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Aurelia[/name], [name]Adelia[/name], [name]Celia[/name], [name]Cecelia[/name], to name a few. But there are several you mentioned I hadn’t asked about, so I will run them by him. Maybe we’ll get lucky. I love the nn [name]Edie[/name] too, but my niece is [name]Eden[/name], nn [name]Edie[/name], so its out. And [name]Eliana[/name] is one of the names I am waiting on a response from him on! By the way, love the names in your signature - many are some of my guilty pleasure names!!

@cristinamariane - Its cute, but just not our style I think. Thanks for the suggestion though!

@bellalulamum - Thanks for the input. I am running [name]Annaliese[/name] by him and we’ll see…

@daynataylor - Thanks! I really do like pretty well all the names, deciding is so hard. Especially since we really love our older daughter’s names as well.

[name]Do[/name] you all think that [name]Genevieve[/name] would fit as a sibset with [name]Brigid[/name] and [name]Camilla[/name]? Or would be too challenging to write when in school? Those are my major concerns on it, otherwise I really do like it. Same goes for [name]Anastasia[/name]. Its a name we both like, but too difficult for school?

Does anyone have any first/middle name combos that they like, either from our lists or as new suggestions? Sometimes that seems to sway DH a bit too. I really wish [name]Amelia[/name] wasn’t so popular around here, but it might work as a middle too maybe. We seem to like 3 syllable middles, but it wouldn’t have to be that way definitively.

Hoping to make some progress on names this weekend, 6-8 weeks to go and I feel like we are going backwards. I really appreciate all the input and suggestions!

Thank you all!!
