Help - Due on 9/7 and need ideas

[name]Hi[/name], Everyone-

I’m due in a couple of weeks and desperately need name ideas for a girl. We don’t know what we’re having, but we have 2 pretty definite ideas for a boy.

I think I’ve read every single name book out there, including Beyond [name]Ava[/name] & [name]Aiden[/name], but I still haven’t fallen in love with any names; however, our current list includes the following:

  1. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Rose[/name] - I’m concerned about its popularity
  2. [name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Rose[/name]/[name]Grace[/name]
  3. [name]Jordan[/name] - Husband’s pick
  4. [name]Hadley[/name]
  5. [name]Gabriella[/name] - Husband’s pick
Our last name begins with an F and is 2 syllables. It seems that I’m drawn mostly to the classic and vintage name lists, but I’m looking for something a little different at the same time.

[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Rose[/name] - [name]Charlotte[/name] is such a classic! While [name]Rose[/name] is a very popular mn, it is very pretty too.
[name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Rose[/name]/[name]Grace[/name] - I can’t really see [name]Ainsley[/name] on a girl myself. [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] are both lovely, but very popular.
[name]Jordan[/name] - reminds me of [name]Jordan[/name], the British page 3 Glamour model who married [name]Peter[/name] [name]Andre[/name] (she is very famous over here, and not exactly a desirable namesake)
[name]Hadley[/name] - I’m not a fan.
[name]Gabriella[/name] - I know a lot of Gabriellas, so the loveliness of this has worn off on me, but it is actually unusual and pretty.

[name]Rose[/name] variations :
[name]Rosalie[/name] (beware the Twilight phenomenon)

Other names that you may like :
[name]Harlow[/name] (set to become very popular)
[name]Cordelia[/name] nn [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Wilhelmina[/name] nn [name]Willa[/name]
[name]Regina[/name] nn [name]Queenie[/name].

Good luck!

I’m sorry - my previous post sounded more negative than I meant it to!

I know [name]Ainsley[/name] is a unisex name, and I think it could easily work in [name]America[/name], where they are more common.
[name]Hadley[/name] is also quite cute, even though it is not my personal style.

More suggestions :
[name]Romilly[/name] (rom-ill-ee) nn [name]Romi[/name]/[name]Milly[/name]
[name]Andromeda[/name] nn [name]Andie[/name]/[name]Romi[/name]

Good luck!

Thanks, Twinkle, for the reponse! Your post didn’t sound negative. I appreciate your suggestions. We do live in the US.

  1. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Rose[/name]: I really love [name]Charlotte[/name]! It’s a timeless classic, but like you said, at #87, it has become popular. I love [name]Rose[/name] as a first name, but it’s unfortunately become the #1 middle name for girls, which may or may not bother you.

  2. [name]Ainsley[/name] [name]Rose[/name]/[name]Grace[/name]: [name]Ainsley[/name] isn’t my style, but I can see its appeal. That said, I wonder if it will become the next [name]Ashley[/name].

  3. [name]Jordan[/name]: [name]Jordan[/name] isn’t my style, and to me, it’s starting to feel dated. (That’s just me, though.) It’s currently #48 for boys and #130 for girls, so if popularity is an issue for you, [name]Jordan[/name] may not be the best pick.

  4. [name]Hadley[/name]: Not my style, but I prefer it to [name]Ainsley[/name] or [name]Jordan[/name].

  5. [name]Gabriella[/name]: I really love this name, but it’s currently #35, which is more popular than [name]Charlotte[/name].

Some names you may like (my apologies for repeats from Twinkle’s great list):
[name]Clementine[/name] (nn [name]Cleo[/name])
[name]Genevieve[/name] (nn [name]Evie[/name])
[name]Penelope[/name] (nn [name]Poppy[/name] or [name]Nell[/name])

Best wishes to you!
