[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries,
We have sooo many boys’ names and combos we’re in love with thanks to your lovely feedback and help. Now I’m looking to narrow down and refresh our girls’ list to find ones we feel the same way about.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] - This is DH favourite and it’s a vintage name I love, but doesn’t make me swoon except for with our combo [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f].
[name_f]Birdie[/name_f] - this has been my top fave for a long time and has a special meaning to me as well the initial B. It’s a little too out there for DH I think, but he doesn’t hate it either.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] - This is an honour name we’ve seriously been considering as a first and love with nn [name_f]Dot[/name_f]/[name_f]Dottie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ro[/name_f]. I love the [name_m]Wizard[/name_m] of [name_m]Oz[/name_m] so that’s a plus, but feel a bit self-conscious it would be seen as too dusty of a choice. I like the combo [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u].
[name_f]Goldie[/name_f] - Another one that may be a bit out there for DH but hasn’t completely said no, especially if it’s a nickname for something else but I prefer it on our own. Only thing is, we’re both brunettes so would it be weird if our child wasn’t blonde with this name?
[name_u]Lou[/name_u]/[name_f]Lulu[/name_f] - We really like this nickname but don’t have a long-form we love and uncertain about using it on its own. [name_f]Lucie[/name_f] feels a bit too plain for me and other [name_f]Lu[/name_f]- names too southern.
[name_u]Rue[/name_u] - We both love this as a nickname or stand-alone, and I like how it features the start of my surname. R is another special initial. However, I have a niece named [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_u]French[/name_u]-Canadian relatives who would be confused about why we named our daughter street lol.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] - This is DH’s other favourite and one of the few we both agree on, although there’s something that doesn’t feel 100% right to me about it. I also don’t want her to be confused for [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f].
For middles, we’d like to use [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] or [name_u]Jean[/name_u] as honour names or a quirky middle like [name_f]Moon[/name_f] or [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]. We have a longer last name (3 syllables), so prefer a shorter first.
[name_f]My[/name_f] other faves given the thumbs down are [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], [name_u]Story[/name_u], [name_u]Poet[/name_u] and more unisex [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_u]Max[/name_u] (I love M name alliteration with our last name).
Which is your #1 name or combo? Which would you remove? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any other suggestions or feedback?
Thanks,
x
