Both sound lovely with Xiao and I think both are getting more popular, but [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] has been pretty popular for a while in [name_f]Asian[/name_f] American communities, so I vote for [name_f]Eva[/name_f] as it is more unexpected.
Both are beautiful. My personal favorite is [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. I adore the nickname [name_f]Evie[/name_f]/[name_f]Evvie[/name_f] (ev-vie). You could use [name_f]Eva[/name_f] for the nickname. That way you both get the name you love.
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] by a mile. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is elegant and I love its brevity. Adding “lyn” to the name just seems unnecessary.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the short sweet [name_f]Eva[/name_f]
Both are beautiful. Not sure if this opinion is bias, but I’d go with [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - My dear friend is named [name_f]Eva[/name_f], and she constantly wishes it was [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] because then she would have the choice of [name_f]Eva[/name_f] or [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] has more nickname opportunities, too. [name_f]Evie[/name_f]… [name_f]Eve[/name_f]… [name_f]Eva[/name_f]… [name_u]Lynn[/name_u]… Or just [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], if that’s what she’d prefer.
I definitely prefer [name_f]Eva[/name_f], both personally, and for you with your surname. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is short, sweet and punchy and while [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is nice too, I do prefer lovely little [name_f]Eva[/name_f].
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
I would definitely go with [name_f]Eva[/name_f]. [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is way too popular for my tastes. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is sweet and simple. You could also do just [name_f]Eve[/name_f], although that doesn’t flow as well w/Xiao.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
Thank you all for your feedback!! It helps us a lot to make this tough decision.
