Help Finding Aussie Girl Names

Bearing in mind I am not Australian myself, here is my reaction to each name (in order of my personal preference from love to like):

[name_f]Indiana[/name_f] [name_m]Airlie[/name_m] - So fresh and fun and adventurous. I love nickname [name_m]Indy[/name_m] and the general vibes of this name.

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] Bells - This name screams [name_m]Australia[/name_m] to me and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] is so sweet. I can absolutely see why you love it, I think it’s a good blend of classic and unique.

[name_f]Banksia[/name_f] [name_f]Haven[/name_f] - I think this is probably the boldest name on your list, especially with nickname [name_f]Banksy[/name_f]. At first I was distracted by the “Bank” beginning, but I sat with it more and I appreciate the gentleness and natural beauty this name represents. I imagine Australians would also be more familiar with the wildflower and thus, [name_f]Banksia[/name_f] as a name.

[name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Marlo[/name_f] - I’m really starting to rediscover [name_f]Summer[/name_f] lately. It’s a beautiful, glowy name, but while I like [name_f]Summer[/name_f] a lot, I love [name_f]Marlo[/name_f] on a boy, so I’d also vote save it.

[name_m]Other[/name_m] suggestions:

[name_f]Kirrily[/name_f] Vivonne “Kirry” - [name_f]Kirrily[/name_f] seems to be a modern Australian coinage said to be inspired by an Aboriginal word for “leaf” though my research is giving me mixed answers on which language specifically. I think Kirrily’s sound and energy is stunning.

[name_f]Acacia[/name_f] [name_m]Lucky[/name_m] “Casey” - For the [name_m]Golden[/name_m] Wattle (acacia pycnantha) and [name_m]Lucky[/name_m] [name_m]Bay[/name_m]. I also think Lucky’s just a cool middle name in general.

[name_f]Talia[/name_f] [name_f]Brighton[/name_f] “Tally/Tibby” - A place in [name_f]Southern[/name_f] [name_m]Australia[/name_m], an Australian tennis champion, and another name that claims Aboriginal origins, though I’ve struggled to confirm once again. [name_f]Talia[/name_f] is a multicultural name though, with established origins in Hebrew, Aramaic, Latin and Greek, so it’s got a global appeal as well as Australian roots.
