[name_f]Louise[/name_f] is a family name on both sides, which is why we would like to honor it. I much prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] though, which only matches with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], and I feel like maybe it’s a mouth full? My husband prefers [name_f]Cora[/name_f] over [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] but we both feel like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] seems a little ‘old’. And [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] has no meaning to it (our son has a meaningful middle name so we’d like our next child to as well), so it seems odd as a middle name.
We also like [name_u]June[/name_u] as a middle, but again, no meaning to it. Other meaningful options include [name_f]Kate[/name_f] (long used in my family but we don’t like it with either of our choices) or a nature name.
She would also have a Hawaiian middle name, so we can only pick one of these.
I like:
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f].
In that order!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_f]Cora[/name_f] too but only [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] (which you think sounds old) and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] (which doesn’t have meaning)
Wow, [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] are gorgeous names. I really love [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] from your list due to your explanation of it. I’m also big on compromise or “getting the best of both worlds” so I’m partial to [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]–and her middle can still be special and meaningful as [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] (after all, it was special enough for you to choose it as a first name).
[name_m]Will[/name_m] this be your last child? If so, go with [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. If you plan on having another child later down the line, go with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]! [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] does trip me up a bit though, with all the L sounds. So my favorite is [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. I would say it sounds “vintage” not necessarily old as a bad thing. I really like the suggestion of [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], actually, if that is an option. Finally, I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is really sweet and adorable Though I like alliterated names, so that’s a bonus to me!
I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is gorgeous. [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] could be another option as well. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is nice, but I don’t love it. I also absolutely adore [name_u]June[/name_u]. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is cute, but I feel like [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] has a more regal feel. And while it’s not one of your top two, I think [name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] is beyond gorgeous.
Thanks everyone! I do love the sound of [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] but since it doesn’t have any particular special meaning I am not sold on it. It will likely be our last child.
I guess [name_u]June[/name_u] could be considered sort of a nature name, so it is a little more meaningful. I do love [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]. So that makes the list of possibilities-
I feel like my [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] combos
don’t have the ‘cutesy/vintage’ feel I’m looking for. And [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] doesn’t have it either. I love [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] but i feel like I just can’t let go of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]! I wish I could find a middle name that sold me on it.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is lovely! I think I’d opt for [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] Lucrece or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], but [name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is fine.
Sounds like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is the winner for you. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]? [name_u]Love[/name_u] the flow of that and still honours [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
