I need some advice on a name to go with [name]Lucie[/name] (French spelling of [name]Lucy[/name] because we’re food-obsessed Francophiles). I like the idea of a double name, but am not sure if it’s more trouble than it’s worth. [name]Will[/name] she constantly have to repeat herself when introductions are made, or do most people figure it out and move on?
I want to think ahead for her, so… If you met an adult woman in a social setting with any of these double names or just read the middle names in an email or something, what would you think? [name]Do[/name] they sound too juvenile or cutesy? We are mostly traditional but I love classic with a twist.
On the table for “double names”… First two seem easiest to say/roll off the tongue.
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]June[/name]
On the table for middle names only, not double:
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Coral[/name]
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Lavender[/name]
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Bird[/name]
My grandmother is [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Mae[/name], and I [name]LOVE[/name] her name. She, however, does not… And consequently goes by [name]Lucille[/name].
[name]One[/name] of my best friends has a double name, and she grew up with teachers always calling her by just the first name until she began hyphenating them. [name]Just[/name] throwing that out there for you to consider, too.
I’m from the South as well, and don’t know whether to cling to traditions or dump them. We’re naming her after a relative, so the double name is kind of a differentiator (like a “[name]Jr[/name].”).
I guess when I think of double names, ‘[name]Ann[/name]’ or ‘[name]Anne[/name]’ - or as mentioned earlier ‘[name]Mae[/name]’ come to mind. Those I think are do-able, but I think it’s hard to pull off a double name, especially the further outside of the box you get - not to say your little lady couldn’t! I’m not brave enough to go there.
I love [name]Lucie[/name] [name]Belle[/name]! Sooo cute!
As much as I love [name]Lavender[/name], I don’t think its good for a middle name with [name]Lucie[/name]. It sounds a bit like a “glamour model” name, if that makes sense? [name]Just[/name] my opinion, obviously!
Some suggestions of mine are:
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Lucie[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name]
