We had a name picked out and my sister brought to my attention that it rhymes/sounds similar with [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] and sounded odd. Now we are at a loss for a name for our daughter. Can anyone help think of a girls name that sounds good with [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]?
What was the original name (if you don’t mind sharing)? It might help so we know your style
Some names that might work with [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]

Thank you for the names! It was [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], which I love but I wanted to call her [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Elle[/name_f] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] or [name_f]Belle[/name_f] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] sounds weird. Then we figured anything with [name_f]El[/name_f] together in the name is a bit of a tongue twister. I like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] a lot but it’s so popular. My Nieces name is [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
It’s too bad it ddn’t work out, I love [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] but I agree an el name does not flow. I would also not use a name ending in an s sound so I will not be suggesting my beloved [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I think a 3 syl name ending in a consonant would flow best, for example [name_f]Rose[/name_f] could run into it and sound like one word such as with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Olive[/name_f]: rosellis or olivellis. I suggested -a names as well to give you options in case that doesn’t matter to you.

What about one of the other [name_f]Anna[/name_f]- names, like [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]? [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] is pretty too, still a bit of a twister with [name_u]Ellis[/name_u], but not as tricky as [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Elle[/name_f]. You could also switch out to [name_f]Annabella[/name_f]. The [name_f]Ell[/name_f] part repeats, but it isn’t bad.
