Help! How do these sound together?!

Ok so my husband and I have struggled so much on baby girl names. We already have a [name_f]Millie[/name_f] (Millicent but not known as that!) and we both love the name [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] however I’m just worried they’ll sound silly together - [name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. I also thought about [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] or something we would shorten to [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] but he doesn’t like it. Opinions really appreciated please! Thank you so much

I do think they’re too close! Maybe something like [name_f]Polly[/name_f]?

Not a fan of [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] with [name_f]Millie[/name_f], sorry! While they’re both lovely on their own, together they sound a bit silly to me. Maybe you’ll like:

[name_u]Welcome[/name_u] !

[name_f]Milly[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] sound okay if you kept the full name or went by the nickname [name_f]Tilda[/name_f].

If you like older names with cute nicknames, [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or [name_f]Margot[/name_f] can be shortened to [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] or [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

I think [name_f]Millie[/name_f] & [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] are too similar.

Maybe if you went [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ‘Tilda’ that would work better or maybe [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] with that familiarity to [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] but the distinction from the very rhymey [name_f]Millie[/name_f] + [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]. I actually think [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] works wonders :sparkles:

Also [name_f]Edith[/name_f] “Edie”

If [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] is just a nickname I don’t see any problem with it myself, though I prefer [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] “Tilly” with [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] “Millie.” Both are [name_m]German[/name_m], share similar sounds without being too close, and both refer to strengths in something. (Ottilie is strong in battle, which is a positive thing to be no matter the battle spoken of—I don’t just look at this as referring to military battles!)

[name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tilly[/name_f] would work great as nicknames (but only as nicknames), and I think [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] would make a super good sibset. But since he doesn’t like Matilda… I agree, [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ottilia[/name_f] would be a sweet alternative to Matilda/ [name_f]Mathilde[/name_f]

I also suggest

[name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Tilda[/name_f]
Myrtilla/ [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f]
Clotilda/ [name_f]Clotilde[/name_f]

Perhaps he could still come around with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. It’s perfect.
