Help! Hyphenated or not?

So we have decided on a name for our girl but don’t know how we want it spelled!
The name is Avaleigh and I love it written that way BUT it gets pronounced aye-ver-ley which is not really how it’s intended, it should be [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u].

She has 2 middle names so hyphenating it makes it longer in my opinion but would love to know other people’s opinions! Here are the choices

Avaleigh [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
AvaLeigh [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]

Thoughts please!

Visually speaking I like the look of [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] best.
IM not one to shy away from a hyphenated name myself but I have heard others complain that it makes paperwork a pain. I would look in to that before making a final decision.

I have this name as one of the final four on my list!! I love it as one! I’ve gotten a few negative comments on here, look at my thread. I am also considering [name_f]Avalyn[/name_f]. Like you I want them pronounced [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u] and [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Lynn[/name_u]. My vote is Avaleigh, it looks so pretty written out!

I like Avaleigh [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] best.

I love [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] and the middle names you have picked out! 100% gorgeous.

I vote for the hyphenation because I think it looks clean and pretty, and it’s clear how it should be pronounced and that both of those names are the first name.

My least favorite is the last - [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Looks like too many names; unclear if there’s 3 middle names or 2. I think the hyphenation effectively breaks up that laundry list into 2 pretty sections: the hyphenated first name and the double middle.

Avaleigh is the simplest option, but personally I think some occasional hyphenation hassle is well worth the easy clear pronunciation. (However, I don’t have a hyphenated name myself so take with a grain of salt  I feel like I’ve heard about equally people with hyphenated names complain about it or say it’s no big deal. Though personally I wouldn’t hesitate to give my own kiddo a hyphenated name.) Also, I would say Avaleigh and [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] differently: the former I would say all together kind of like an adverb and the latter with emphasis on [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] as well as [name_f]Ava[/name_f]… I think that pronunciation is nicer, but something else for you to consider!

AvaLeigh is ok… I think the mid-name capitalizations are more confusing than hyphens for people? I think the hyphen is prettier and cleaner visually, so that’s my preference anyway…

Overall I love [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u] though in any of the spellings!
