I haven’t told my partner but after getting a lot of hate from other websites on our top choices I am really having a hard time picturing them on our child now.
I have a list of names we both like in my signature. Please help us name our baby.
Honestly, you have wonderful names chosen! I don’t think you have any reason to doubt or change them. I really like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].
And from the rest of your options- [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m], [name_u]Cyan[/name_u], [name_u]Haven[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f] and [name_u]Reign[/name_u]. I love them all!
I think of you and your partner have chosen these names together and they are special to you, keep them. There will always be people who won’t love your name choices, but I for one think they are lovely.
What were the criticisms? I like the names you have listed. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] are lovely. I’d also like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. Not a huge fan of [name_u]Barrett[/name_u], [name_u]Cyan[/name_u], [name_u]Haven[/name_u], and [name_u]Reign[/name_u] though.
Personally I like the names you listed. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is lovely. I know many people think [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is filler but it flows really well with [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and the combo is very sweet, while being sophisticated at the same time. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is pretty nice too. I always like the nature fell of [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is handsome. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] isn’t everyone’s taste but it does get love here. It was once on my own list too. [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] is quite wonderful. [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] is one of the word names I’d love to use myself. Overall this combo seems quite badass.
I also like [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] from your list.
I really like your combos, and many of the names listed. [name_m]Callum[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] are particularly fab.
Maybe take a break from all name things for a couple of days, and step away from the opinions affecting you (and all other opinions) so you can get some space and come back to how YOU feel. You can absolutely disregard others opinions if you hold a different one, and if you love a name, don’t let a few strangers change that. We probably all have names in our signatures that plenty of others can’t stand or dislike, but that doesn’t need to diminish our own love of them!
I think you have a lovely taste when it comes to names, it’s not hard to choose my favourites.
everett arrow + callum arthur: I don’t like [name_m]Callum[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] sounds very feminine to me but I really love love [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]!
I also love [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_u]Finley[/name_u], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. I’m not very fond of -er names like [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] because I think they’re more nouns than names. [name_u]Barrett[/name_u] reminds me of that [name_m]French[/name_m] hat so it’s a no from me and [name_m]Griffin[/name_m] reminds of Griffindor and I’m not a hp fan. [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] has too much of a car/company vibe I think.
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] is soo masculine to me I really wouldn’t choose it but then again Americans are more fluid when it comes to that so if you live in [name_u]America[/name_u] that maybe isn’t a problem. But I think [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] are lovely!
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] is also a fav of mine and I’ve never heard of [name_f]Elora[/name_f] until now but omg I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] IT!! It’s like a more modern [name_f]Laura[/name_f]. I don’t really like [name_f]Etta[/name_f], it’s too snatchy. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], [name_f]Hattie[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is too overused i think, [name_u]Reign[/name_u] is too weird for a girl, [name_u]Piper[/name_u] reminds me of OITNB (a very bad TV show in my opinion) and the wr in [name_u]Wren[/name_u] is confusing, Inever know how to pronounce it.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] I could help!
I really like your choices. And honestly there are going to be names that not everyone likes. I find the internet just makes it easier for people to be tactless/cruel about it.
Go with what you love, its your child after all.
I think [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] is one of those names that people will wind up regretting. But [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] sounds great. And I like [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] much better on a boy. But i really like [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. Perhaps [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_u]Piper[/name_u] or [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].
Thank you all so much, you’ve made me feel much better about our choices.
I’ve received the most comments on [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], because it’s a boy name but I feel it’s equally used for boys and girls. I adore the name and have a strong connection to it and we call the baby [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] all the time.

This is one of the reasons I’m scared to share my name choices in general. It’s easy for someone to casual diss something you love and forever stain it, though maybe it shouldn’t work like that it often does for me.
You have made lovely choices, I am so sorry you have received hateful comments! I particularly like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m], it is very strong, and [name_f]Freya[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] just rolls off the tongue. To me, [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] flows just a little better than [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], but [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is still beautiful! I am a firm believer that when you meet your little one, you will know what fits him or her best. Good luck!
I think that you’ve come up with great names! I love [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] and both your girl combos, and Callaum [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is pretty cool too.
My boy favourites (from your lists):
[name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_u]Finley[/name_u] ‘[name_u]Finn[/name_u]’, [name_m]Griffin[/name_m], [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] ‘[name_m]Harry[/name_m]’, [name_u]River[/name_u], [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. I like [name_u]Wren[/name_u] too, but better on a girl.
My girl favourites:
[name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]Reign[/name_u], [name_u]Wren[/name_u]. [name_f]Margot[/name_f] is sweet too. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] I really, really love, it’s gorgeous!
You have some wonderful choices and its your decision and your baby to name. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t ever worry about what others think, or you’ll end up settling for something you don’t love and regretting it later.
If the criticism is coming from people online, ignore it! It’s unlikely you’ll ever meet those people and therefore you don’t need to worry about their opinions.
If it’s coming from people you know, the names will grow on them once they’ve met the beautiful baby baring the name.
If you and your partner both agree, and both love the names, use them!
