Needing a first and middle boy name for a rainbow baby. I would love feedback on those below, as well as suggestions of new considerations! We like “not too too common, nothing super trendy, and names spelled easily”.
*husband vetoed lol
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband has a family name of Ellingsworth and would like to use it as a potential middle name. I don’t love it, but maybe someone has a creative alternative.
[name_f]Sister[/name_f] is [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
As far as Ellingsworth goes, it’s a great name that sounds very elegant! Maybe [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] or Elling or even [name_m]Worth[/name_m] could be an alternative? Maybe the name could be [name_u]Ellery[/name_u] [name_m]Worth[/name_m] ____?
For firsts: I love [name_u]Penn[/name_u] or [name_m]Grant[/name_m]!
Other suggestions:
[name_u]Brennan[/name_u] (Elling)
[name_u]Nolan[/name_u] (Ellery)
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] Ellingsworth
[name_m]Halloran[/name_m] [name_m]Worth[/name_m]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u] Elling
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m] [name_m]Worth[/name_m]
[name_u]Kiernan[/name_u] [name_u]Ellery[/name_u]
[name_m]Xavier[/name_m] Ellingsworth
I really like Penn & Lydi@ together! Ellingsworth is kinda cool… & I like the previous suggestion of Elling even more
A few more ideas:
Vincent
Shepherd
Alcott
Shiloh
Loic
Alaric
Omri
Asa
Ivo
Cedric
Oren
Abel
Lowen
Barnaby
Amias
Ellingsworth is cool! But I can see how it might be a bit much. I like [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] an alternative - [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] is very handsome. The previous suggestion of [name_m]Worth[/name_m] is neat as well.
[name_u]Wilson[/name_u] ‘Wilx’-I’ve never heard Wilx. That’s kind of fun…maybe a little confusing. [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe you’re in the U.K. & it’s more common there? [name_u]Wilson[/name_u] doesn’t do much for me, but it’s nice & solid & friendly.
Penn-I like it. It’s kind of like [name_u]Wilson[/name_u] to me, but a little sleeker. It’s different & easy. I like it as a nn for [name_u]Peregrine[/name_u] too.
Warren-I don’t know. I like the vibe of this, but maybe it feels too dated.
[name_u]Bo[/name_u] or Beau-I’d do [name_u]Beau[/name_u] as a full name, but it’s not my cup of tea. I don’t love the abruptness maybe.
Grant-Not my personal favorite, but handsome & solid & good with [name_f]Lydia[/name_f].
Ace-I like [name_u]Ace[/name_u] a lot. It’s quirky & geeky but also kind of sporty! Definitely easy to say & spell but not common, that being said, I think it’s too nick-name-y on its own. The good news is that it can basically be a nn for any ‘A’ name.
Landry-I don’t love it. It sounds too much like laundry.
Callan-I love [name_m]Calum[/name_m] & [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], but I don’t know why I don’t like [name_u]Callan[/name_u] as much.
Don’t use Ellingsworth as the middle of you don’t like it and the child will already have your husband’s family surname. Is there a family name on your side you like, or one of your relatives you’d like to honour with the middle name?
With Lydia, I’d consider something more traditional. Suggest: Silas/Cyrus, Jude, Simon, Peter or Paul (uncommon these days), Thomas (common but great), Philip, Levi, Felix. Barnaby is a good suggestion as is Elliott.
