I’m going to be an auntie again in [name]December[/name], as my brother and [name]SIL[/name] are expecting their second, a brother or sister for [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Helen[/name].
I saw them yesterday, and in my usual style, I was asking them about names. [name]Cat[/name] (my [name]SIL[/name]) sighed and said they were really struggling. When expecting [name]Lucy[/name], they were set on [name]Lucy[/name] or [name]Edward[/name] (my brother’s middle name), but [name]Cat[/name]'s sister has since gone on to have a boy named [name]Edward[/name]. (She didn’t know that was the name [name]John[/name] and [name]Cat[/name] were planning on for a boy).
These are the names they’ve got so far:
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] (after my dad)
[name]Oliver[/name]
[name]William[/name]
(My heart sank a bit when they said [name]Samuel[/name] was on the list, but hey, I can’t stop them using it).
However they did then say that none of these names are particularly grabbing them as much as [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Edward[/name] did.
Anyway, I asked them if I could post on Nameberry, and they said “sure - it may give us some ideas.”
So can I ask you, what would YOU name a sibling for [name]Lucy[/name], and I’ll pass on all suggestions to [name]John[/name] and [name]Cat[/name]. (Any boy suggestions that make them forget about [name]Samuel[/name] greatly appreciated)!!
Thanks in advance.
NB: I will of course, feedback on progress as and when.
I think [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]William[/name] all sounds great with [name]Lucy[/name]. But I don’t like [name]Lucy[/name] with [name]Georgia[/name] or [name]Sophie[/name].
What about these:
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Love[/name] [name]William[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] with [name]Lucy[/name]! [name]Don[/name]'t care for their girl choices. [name]How[/name] about:
For a boy, I immediately thought of [name]Theodore[/name]. Has a similar feel (and nick name!) as [name]Edward[/name], but with it’s own distinctive style. Plus, I think [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Theo[/name]?) would be adorable and sophisticated together.
As for girls, perhaps…[name]Lucy[/name] and…[name]Cassandra[/name], [name]Natalie[/name], [name]Maisie[/name], [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Claire[/name] or [name]Hazel[/name].
