[name_m]Hi[/name_m], our 3rd daughter is due in 1 month and we still are not settled on her name.
The top choice has been [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] for the last few months - but when I share it with people I don’t get the best reaction. This keeps making me 2nd guess??? What is up with people?! I think [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] for a little girl is super cute and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] for an adult is established and classic.
Our other 2 girls are [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Savanna[/name_f] [name_f]Yasmin[/name_f].
I’ve been trying to find other names that we could have in the running but we have no other options. Can anyone suggest some alternatives? My husband suggested [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] the other day but we both agree it’s too long. We like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] but feel that it’s too similar to her sisters names.
Any suggestions would be SO HELPFUL. Thank you in advance!
Personally, I’d say ignore the haters and use [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] if that’s what you like. Like you said, it ages well and goes nicely with [name_f]Ella[/name_f] and [name_f]Savanna[/name_f]. That said, it’s not a bad idea to have some alternatives in place.
Hmm. Maybe [name_f]Amabel[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]? There are lots of other good -bel names out there. [name_f]Alexia[/name_f], [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] or [name_f]Allegra[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]? More ideas:
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], nn. [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], is a lovely name. This is why I never “test out” name choices with the general public before baby is born. I will quietly mention certain frontrunners to a couple of friends whom I trust to be thoughtful and honest but not reactionary. Beyond that, though, some people are not going to like anything that isn’t very common or familiar. This is particularly true of older relatives who’s idea of a popular name is still the in the [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]-[name_f]Amy[/name_f]-[name_f]Michelle[/name_f] neighborhood.
I think [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is a beautiful name and [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] is a cute nickname. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t let other people’s opinions change your mind. If you like the name, use it! It’s a classic and the only people who need to like that name are you and your husband.
I know a little 2 year old named [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and it fits her beautifully. People just have a hard time imagining things they haven’t encountered (ex kids with names they’ve only heard on older people).
I agree that it’s a great fit with your daughters names.
But a few suggestions anyway:
[name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Savanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Anthea[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Savanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Savanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Corinna[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Savanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Savanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Savanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Virginia[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is lovely, but then both [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] and [name_f]Savanna[/name_f] have longer, dramatic names, while [name_f]Ella[/name_f] has an extremely simple, short one.
I agree that you shouldn’t use any belle/bel/elle/el names with [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. Or any ana/anna with [name_f]Savanna[/name_f].
