Help! Loads of boys in family and all my names are taken!

We are awaiting the arrival of our 2nd bub which is going to be a little man. We already have a little girl ([name]Lucy[/name]) and I am having loads of trouble thinking of names as our kids have loads of boy cousins and lots of uncles with names i [name]LOVE[/name]!.

So…we are looking for a name that is strong and masculine but isn’t too common. On the other hand DH doesn’t want anything too alternative.

We love the name [name]Harry[/name] however there is already and older counsin with this name… however a different last name but would really like something unique in the family.

Names already taken that i love are [name]Harry[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Benjamin[/name], [name]Lewis[/name], [name]Zac[/name]…

We went through the same thing when naming my son. My two favorite names were already taken (by one boy). We were looking for the same combo of not too common and masculine. We decided on [name]Everett[/name] and I love it! My two favorite names before were [name]Micah[/name] and [name]Caleb[/name].

With you on that, my DH has 12 male cousins, and I have 7, then there are uncles, parents and brothers… and all the next generation baby males too! Then there are all my friends, their male partners and children too. I often wonder if there are any good solid basic names that aren’t ‘taken’. Drives me mad trying to find one I like.

Thanks everyone, all lovely names, will just wait and see, I have one name that i just [name]ADORE[/name] and have such a strong feeling about, might just have to go with it even though it is ‘taken’,. They all get there own nn’s & little personalities anyway…will wait and see what he looks like :slight_smile:
