I’m trying to find soft, elegant, classic and under-used names. I am looking for names that just flow off the tongue and sound pleasant to the ears - ie no harsh sounds.
Here are a few examples of what I think of when I hear soft - [name]Emmeline[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Shae[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Helene[/name] and [name]Noelle[/name].
What soft sounding names come to your mind and what are your favorites?
Sorry if this sounds mumbled and sloppy - it appears my mind is not flowing well today!
The first name that came to my mind was [name]Charlotte[/name].
Some other names that come to mind are:
[name]Noa[/name]- meaning movement or motion. My favourite for a girl atm.
[name]Isla[/name]
[name]Nadia[/name]
[name]Natalie[/name]/[name]Natalia[/name]
[name]Amelie[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name]
Elowen
[name]Gisele[/name]
This is all I can think of off the top of my head, hope this helps start you off!
The type of name you describe are my favorie for girls. My favorites not alreay mentioned (and are not too popular, as in my most favorite- [name]Sophia[/name]):
[name]How[/name] is [name]Noa[/name] pronounced? Is it like [name]Noah[/name] for a girl?
I like [name]Eloise[/name] in theory and in writing, but I can’t get around the pronunciation of it, but I think it’s because I’m not fond of [name]Louise[/name].
Keep them coming!
I’m really looking for names with no harsh sounds in them. No hard g’s , k’s or d’s ! [name]Light[/name], and fun, not clunky. I always think that short means soft, but I’m surprised that [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Evangeline[/name] are so long and yet can be so soft to the ears.
Yes [name]Noa[/name] is pronounced the same way as [name]Noah[/name], but it definitely has it’s own history and meaning as a name which I love instead of just dropping a letter and putting it on a girl! Good luck with your continued name search!
I like [name]Norah[/name] very much, but my favorite you’ve mentioned is [name]Clementine[/name]! I want it so bad for our little one due in march but my husband says no way it will probably be a middle for us
