[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Quick poll because we are totally stuck deciding.
What should we name [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]'s sister: [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]?
If you prefer [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] would you still choose it knowing moms name last starts with “[name_f]Mar[/name_f]” and baby has a cousin named [name_m]Marco[/name_m]. Too much “[name_f]Mar[/name_f]”?
Is mom’s last name also baby’s last name? If not, I think [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is fine. In general, I prefer it, honestly, because I love its nns–particularly [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_f]Greta[/name_f], and [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] (in that order), but [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Mara[/name_f]/[name_f]Mari[/name_f]/[name_u]Ari[/name_u]/[name_m]Rhett[/name_m] (for a unisex option?), [name_f]Peggy[/name_f], [name_f]Meg[/name_f], etc., are all lovely, too. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] are gorgeous together!
What about [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] as a combo? I do like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] best with [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. I know sisters who are [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] and I really think those names go great together too! You could also use [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] or [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] for [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f].
I much prefer [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], and it does sound really nice with [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. And like others have said, the nickname choices are awesome. I haven’t got on board with the name [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] yet.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] are so special. [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is lovely too, but I feel like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is such an elegant, versatile classic that pairs beautifully with [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
An official vote for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]! I’m with @ashthedreamer – there are so many great nicknames. To me, [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is easy, but the nickname is hard!!
