HELP!! Madeleine Jacqueline, does not work but we LOVE Madeleine!

We love the name [name]Madeleine[/name] for our first daughter (we have a son [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Edward[/name]), but I would like to honour a member of my family whose name is [name]Jacqueline[/name]! I know that [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name] does not work but I feel it’s important to honour this family member. We have considered other first names, these are:
[name]Catherine[/name], but the ‘ine’ at the end makes it another no-no
[name]Alexandra[/name], I am fond of this name but DH isn’t
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name], we both adore this name as well but I feel that it’s just too overused.

Any advice or suggestions would be much appricated! Thank you.

It is a shame that the [name]Jacqueline[/name] combo doesn’t work as [name]Jacquelyn[/name] is my daughter’s name and I love it. However, you may like [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jacinta[/name].

rollo

I dearly love the member of my family named [name]Jacqueline[/name], and [name]Jacqueline[/name] has such a lovely ring to it!! It’s unfortunate that it didn’t work.

Hmm.
Mix it up slightly.
[name]Madeleine[/name] Jacquelina?
[name]Madelena[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name]?
[name]Magdalena[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name]?

Another name:
I quite like [name]Annabel[/name]. [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name]. Or just [name]Anna[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name]. As popular as / close to [name]Hannah[/name], but a little more timeless.

[name]Jacqueline[/name] comes from [name]Jacques[/name], the French variation of [name]Jacob[/name]/[name]James[/name].

Use the male form?
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jacques[/name]? (since [name]Madeleine[/name] basically has the ending of [name]Jacqueline[/name], you’ve almost got the full name in there)
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]James[/name]?
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jack[/name]?
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jake[/name]?

(I know some people will hate the boys’ names on girls, but I don’t care at all in the middle. Although, I really just can’t see [name]Jacob[/name] working, the flow’s not right).

Use variants/other feminine forms of the male forms?
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jacoby[/name]?
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jacoba[/name]?
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jacobina[/name]?
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jamesina[/name]?

These two are more dated, but…
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jackie[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jamie[/name]

Good luck!

I think it works or it would really work with another mn to break it up, I say find a way to make it work if you love both names!

[name]Annabel[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name] is lovely!

[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Madelina[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name] or [name]Magdalena[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name]?

Would you consider doing it anyway? the flow isn’t great but if you really love both names then maybe you should still do it? Rarely do I know anyones middle name so to me they really are more for meaning…just a thought

[name]How[/name] do are you saying it? I suppose it’s my years of high school French, but I would say it as MAD-eh-len zhack-LEEN, which sounds just lyrical and so beautiful, imo! I would use it. [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Edward[/name] and [name]Madeleine[/name] [name]Jacqueline[/name] are gorgeous together.

These sugestions are brilliant and I will def consider them! I see no problem with giving a girl a boys name for a middle as long as she knows the significance.
