Help me choose between these two girl names

Hello berries … for my second daughter , we are between two names … [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Kaia[/name_f]. Help us decide by sharing your thoughts and votes

First of all welcome to Nameberry forums and congratulations!

I hope you don’t mind but I’m going to set up a poll for you, that we people can easily vote!

For me it’s tough because I like both. I think I’m leaning towards [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] because it’s a bit less expected, but [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is very sweet too

For me personally it’s hard to vote without knowing what the likely middle name is and the last name (or some idea of what the last name will be - syllables, first letter, etc). And maybe even what your first daughters name is.

welcome to nameberry!

i like both names, but i love [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] a bit more, it’s more uncommon and the nn “Kai” is really sweet :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
but i think it depends on which one matches better with your other daughter’s name

Hello :white_heart: my first daughter is called [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]

I lean toward [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] here. I think it’s great with big sister [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] and has such a bright and lively feel.

I prefer [name_f]Kaia[/name_f]. It’s very pretty. It also goes beautifully with big sister [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is also a nice name, but it just doesn’t excite me anymore.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helps.

I prefer [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] and think it goes brilliantly with [name_f]Ayla[/name_f].

[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] is so sparky, bright and lovely!!

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is definitely my favourite!

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is a lovely feminine choice that feels elegant and wholesome. I love the meaning ‘wisdom’ and personally I’ve only met a couple of Sophia’s so to me the name still feels fresh.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] & [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] do work very well together though

Both are lovely but the strength and individuality of [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] draws me to it. I think it’s perfect with [name_f]Ayla[/name_f].

I would choose [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. Being frequently used doesn’t tend to deter me as much as others, and I believe children enjoy having popular names, especially ones as strong and beautiful as [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].

I really like [name_f]Kaia[/name_f]! I think that’s beautiful. I’ve never heard it before so it wouldn’t be super common.

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] I don’t like just because it’s very common. It ranks high in the charts and I know a lot of kids named [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].

I would vote for [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]. It has a beautiful, elegant sound and it seems very timeless.
