Hello! Me and my husband are deciding the name of our little girl. We are in between [name_f]Hera[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. We are both greek, therefore the pronunciation would be (EE-rah) and (I-rees) - so pretty similar!
We love the sound of both, but we are unsure which one of the two would be a better fit. Please let me know what do you think of each name, and what is the first image that comes to mind when you hear them!
Personally I’m team [name_f]Hera[/name_f], I’ve loved this one for a long time and I’d love to see someone actually put it to use. I used to not like [name_f]Iris[/name_f] but I’ve really warmed up to it over that past few years, so really either is a great choice
Both are nice, but I prefer [name_f]Iris[/name_f]! It feels a little more like it’s own name, whereas [name_f]Hera[/name_f] feels strictly tied to the goddess
I prefer [name_f]Hera[/name_f], it is more particular, it is still international and has a story behind, but if you want a simplier and more familiar choice use [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. I always loved [name_f]Hera[/name_f] - maybe even more than [name_f]Iris[/name_f].
I really love [name_f]Iris[/name_f], but [name_f]Hera[/name_f] is just so cool and underrated, so I’m voting for [name_f]Hera[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Hera[/name_f] because it’s less popular, but I’m not sure if that matters to you. You can’t go wrong with either name though.
