Although I like [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] as a combo slightly more than [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Grace[/name], I think the mn [name]Grace[/name] has the better flow with your surname. The repetitive l’s in [name]Violet[/name] and Luedecker trip up my tongue.
If you need to use [name]Eugenia[/name], I’d stick it in the middle.
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Eugenia[/name] Luedecker sounds better to me.
I agree with the double L repetition of [name]Violet[/name] and Luedeker. Also, with a 3-syllable first and a 3-syllabie last, a monosyllabic crisp middle name like [name]Grace[/name] is optimal. Are those the final two for middle names?
I like [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] better as a pairing, but I think [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] just works best in general. [name]Both[/name] are just fab, though, I love them.
Good luck!
[name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is beautiful! Please don’t put [name]Eugenia[/name] in the middle, it’s beautiful and makes a great fn!
No - I am still open to suggestions! I, too, tend to prefer 1-syllable middle names with the first and last name. [name]Ann[/name], [name]Claire[/name], and [name]Rose[/name] are names that came to mind as well, but 1) [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Ann[/name] was my grandmother’s full name, 2) [name]Rose[/name] is almost as common as [name]Grace[/name] as a middle name these days and is perhaps too flowery with [name]Eugenia/name, and I wasn’t sure how [name]Claire[/name] worked.
[name]Grace[/name] was proposed because that was my husband’s grandmother’s name, and well - I just liked it. But it IS super common as a middle name. I came up with [name]Violet[/name] while trying to create E and V initials to help make the nickname “[name]Evie[/name]” work.
Sorry for all that info. Please feel free to share your suggestions!
Thank you! I understand why it’s not for everybody, but I’ve really, really come to love it.
I think [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Claire[/name] would work very well. There are just so many vowel sounds in [name]Eugenia[/name] that balancing with a closed monosyllabic middle name works very well. I agree, [name]Rose[/name] is equally as common as [name]Grace[/name]. Other thoughts, from a very wide mix of styles:

I voted [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] Luedecker. [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is a safer choice if you prefer a more original name. [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Violet[/name] on the other hand is much more of an interesting combination.
[name]Blade[/name], love the suggestions! Liking [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Gale[/name], [name]Claire[/name], and [name]Belle[/name]. Not my typical style, but interesting with [name]Eugenia[/name]. L names don’t work so well with our last name, not only because it begins with L, but because it begins with the [name]Lu[/name] sound. L alliteration with “[name]Lu[/name]-” makes for some Dr. Seuss sounding names, LOL.
I love [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. I hope you stay with it. It’s got great history and [name]Grace[/name] is a (excuse the wording) graceful way to soften a potentially clunky name.
I’m glad to help. I think [name]Maeve[/name] is probably the most euphonious combination, since the rhythm works and no sounds are repeated ([name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] Ludeker is quite a distinguished and interesting name-- Greek, Irish Gaelic and [name]German[/name]).
[name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Claire[/name] Ludeker is the lightest-- also distinguished and uncommon. I think the L is buried enough in the Cl- sound such that it’s not difficult to say, even quickly, when paired with your surname.
[name]Gale[/name] is the breeziest (ha ha); I think it gains a bit of coolness from Hunger Games. The Gs are different (one soft in [name]Eugenia[/name], one hard in [name]Gale[/name]). However, the Ls might run together a bit going into Ludeker.
Same problem with [name]Belle[/name]-- the Ls might run together, as you noted. [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Belle[/name] is light, pretty and has a nice meaning (“the well-born beauty,”) and your little [name]Eugenia[/name] will be going to school with lots of Ellas and Isabellas and might enjoy having a common, “normal” middle name.
I voted for [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] because it’s flow is nice, but I don’t love [name]Grace[/name] as a mn. [name]Blade[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] is genius.
Other one syllable mn suggestions
[name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Tess[/name]
[name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Gwen[/name]
[name]Blade[/name], I’m loving your insight. Trying to come around to [name]Maeve[/name], but I envision the birth announcement and people seeing those two names and thinking, “Huh?” or worse yet, “WTF?” There’s always the [name]Mae[/name] option, but that’s overused nowadays too.
[name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Claire[/name] has yet to meet the chopping block; [name]Claire[/name] certainly feminizes “[name]Eugene[/name]” and softens the overall flow. Still, I’m not sure if it matches the regal qualities of [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. (Her brother is [name]James[/name] [name]Harrison[/name] - very presidential - so it might be a good match, LOL.)
…So, in a nutshell: I keep coming back to [name]Eugenia[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. Sure, [name]Grace[/name] is way overdone these days. But you know what? [name]Eugenia[/name] is one in a - if not million - thousand, and like you pointed out, she “might enjoy having a common, normal middle name” to bring her back down to earth.
Dare I say it?!
[name]EUGENIA[/name] [name]GRACE[/name] IT IS!
…[name]Violet[/name] might make for a great sibling name down the line. Who knows?!
Congratulations on reaching a decision! It’s a beautiful and well-chosen name.
