Help me decide! Ever OR Sylvie

I like very unique names. For reference, my toddler boy is named Bear and my two teens are named Aslyn and Coleson. I am having a baby girl in August. My husband’s name is James and he wants his name in her name somewhere. I am down to Sylvie James or Ever James. I have ALWAYS loved Ever, but my family is not quite loving it. They are a touch more in favor of Sylvie. Thoughts!?

personally, i prefer [name_u]Ever[/name_u] against [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is more dated and doesn’t fit the style of your other kids names as well as [name_u]Ever[/name_u] does. both names are adorable though, good luck!

I personally prefer [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], but I think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] matches your other kids more. If you’ve always loved [name_u]Ever[/name_u], I say follow your heart!

[name_f]Welcome[/name_f]! I prefer [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and I think [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is lovely! However, I think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] fits with your other children better and I’m always one for saying go with your gut and what you like best :yellow_heart:

I prefer [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] but [name_u]Ever[/name_u] goes great with your older children.

[name_u]Ever[/name_u] is perfect with your older kiddos’ names, and it sounds like it’s where your heart is, so it gets my vote! :green_heart:

although i personally prefer sylvie, if you’ve always loved ever, i think it’s the one for you - i also think it goes better with your sons’ names ! both are lovely options, but i think it’s more important to pick the name that you are in love with, not the one that your family like best. ever james gets my vote ! :heartpulse:

Either choice is nice, but I think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is a perfect fit for your set!

I’ll echo many other comments and say that I personally prefer [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u], but I do think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] fits better with your other children’s names. So, if you have your heart set on [name_u]Ever[/name_u], I say go for it. Your family will hopefully come around when [name_u]Ever[/name_u] has arrived.

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is lovely! [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is nice but [name_u]Ever[/name_u]- names are one of the biggest trends of 2020s, so it doesn’t sound unique like you want imo. But if you like it it works. I actually prefer it with your kids’ names. Though since [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is gender neutral and [name_u]James[/name_u] is masculine [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is likely to be assumed a male, would that bother you?

I think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] fits in much better with your other children’s names. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] feels too dated.

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is wonderful! I love [name_u]Ever[/name_u] as a name, but [name_u]Ever[/name_u] and [name_m]Bear[/name_m] clash a little, and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] flows better with the sibset imo. They’re both wonderful though!

[name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] doesnt quite do it for me. Sounds a little wordy, a little choppy. The flow is off, perhaps.

Between [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u], hands down I think [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] is the best choice. They go together nicely.

However, because you said you’ve loved [name_u]Ever[/name_u] for a long time, here are some suggestions for ways I think would include [name_u]Ever[/name_u], but sound better with [name_u]James[/name_u].
