Help me decide on a girl name!

Please rank these names for me and give any thoughts on the names, alternate middle names, etc! Also my husband and I are at odds over “[name]Callie[/name]” being a nickname for [name]Caroline[/name]/a. He says he doesn’t think it works, but I’ve seen it used as a nn for those names several times on different naming websites. He wants the name to be “[name]Callie[/name]” alone, I know it can be a first name, but I don’t think it would age well and I love [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Carolina[/name]… so any feedback on that would be great too! I ranked them in order of my favs as well. Thanks!

  1. [name]Carolina[/name] [name]Faith[/name] nn-"[name]Callie[/name]"
  2. [name]Ella[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
  3. [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Grace[/name], or [name]Bliss[/name], [name]Soleil[/name]…? nn-"[name]Callie[/name]"
  4. [name]Camille[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] (pronounced SO-lay) nn-"[name]Cami[/name]"

I think getting [name]Callie[/name] from [name]Caroline[/name] is doable! Most automatic would be [name]Carrie[/name] or [name]Caro[/name] but [name]Callie[/name] is not too much of a stretch.

I do prefer [name]Caroline[/name] over [name]Carolina[/name] and I really love [name]Camille[/name]. I would go:

[name]Camille[/name] [name]Soleil[/name]
[name]Camille[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Soleil[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Faith[/name]

[name]Cami[/name] is sooooo cute! I think [name]Grace[/name] is just a little too popular and alongside [name]Caroline[/name] is a bit ‘typical’ but [name]Camille[/name] is more unique so [name]Grace[/name] balances it. [name]Bliss[/name] is mms, and [name]Ella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] just seems shorter and not as interesting as your other options.

I like [name]Callie[/name] and I don’t think will age poorly…my name is [name]Kelly[/name]…that’s like the 80’s version of [name]Callie[/name]…

what about [name]Calla[/name]? or [name]Cora[/name]…

both are a little less popular than [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Callie[/name]…
The problemo I have with [name]Caroline[/name] is that she will forever be correcting people when they get lazy and say [name]Carolyn[/name]…instead of [name]LINE[/name]…
I hate when people have to correct someone cus others are just lazy talkers…ya know?

  1. [name]Carolina[/name] [name]Faith[/name] nn-"[name]Callie[/name]" - This is timeless and beautiful! I love it! [name]Callie[/name] could definitely work, whatever you cal her, people will catch on.
  2. [name]Ella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] - This sounds very peaceful and nice. [name]Kate[/name] grounds [name]Ella[/name].
  3. [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - This sounds the slightest bit boring, sorry. [name]Grace[/name] is just used a lot…
  4. [name]Camille[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] - Beautiful! I love [name]Camille[/name], it’s so french and smart and elegant. [name]Cami[/name] just sorta reminds me of camouflage though.

Okay hope I helped!

I think [name]Carolina[/name] [name]Faith[/name] and [name]Camille[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] are the most interesting choices. [name]Ella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] feels rather common, and while I love [name]Caroline[/name], it seems dull (esp with [name]Grace[/name]) and when compared with the other options. [name]Callie[/name] totally works as a nn for [name]Carolina[/name], and [name]Carolina[/name] is so spunky and fun! And while I prefer [name]Milla[/name], [name]Millie[/name], and just [name]Cam[/name] to [name]Cami[/name], I think [name]Camille[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] rolls off the tongue so well and will stand out better amidst the [name]Ella[/name]'s and [name]Grace[/name]'s.

Our bitty girl is just over a year old and we named her [name]Carolina[/name] [name]Justine[/name]. We debated [name]Cara[/name],[name]Caro[/name], [name]Coco[/name], [name]Ali[/name], [name]Ari[/name], Roli, [name]Carol[/name], [name]Carlie[/name], [name]Rina[/name], [name]Carys[/name], [name]Lina[/name] and [name]CALLIE[/name] as nicknames for her. Before she came, I just ‘knew’ we would call her [name]Carlie[/name], [name]Coco[/name] or [name]Ari[/name]. Sometimes though, the little sweets have a way of owning their own names from the very start though and so [name]Lina[/name] or [name]Cara[/name] she has become. Those nicknames just ‘fit’ her best. To be honest though, we use her full name the majority of the time.

We didn’t want people calling her [name]Carol[/name]-[name]LYNN[/name] as I love the “line” sound of her name. So, we went with the ‘a’ at the end and her name and that solved that problem. It also became ‘unique but not out there’. And, if one day our little [name]Carolina[/name] craves a more ‘normal’ name, she can easily go by [name]Caroline[/name] or any of the nicknames the name has.

You can tell I’m a big fan of the name. However, it really does have a ton of built-in nicknames, it’s not hard for most people to pronouce or spell, and we’ve never met another little girl with the same name. The only thing I didn’t think of in advance was the Spanish pronunciation which is Car-ro-[name]LEE[/name]-na. Some people have asked if that was how to say her name. Actually, I quite like that as a nickname, in itself, to her real name, so that doesn’t bug me at all. In fact, I sometimes call her that (but only I use it and usually just around the house).

I like the name [name]Carolina[/name] Soliel best (I know that wasn’t an option). [name]Carolina[/name] [name]Faith[/name] is beautiful too.

And as far as if a nickname works? It does if the parents use it, people will catch on.

[name]Camille[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] would be my favs. I am not a fan of nicknames.

[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] and [name]Camille[/name] [name]Soleil[/name]. Not a fan of nn [name]Callie[/name].

I’m a [name]Caroline[/name] and never really found a nickname that stuck. Not that I dont love my full name, but at different points I was [name]Cara[/name], [name]Caro[/name], and Lines before returning to full name [name]Caroline[/name]. I can totally see [name]Callie[/name] as a nickname for [name]Caroline[/name]! Especially if you start calling her by that name early on.

I like [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Faith[/name]

Im not entirely sure how [name]Callie[/name] will age, but I think giving her a full name like [name]Caroline[/name] gives that insurance that she can be [name]Callie[/name] for life or [name]Callie[/name] in childhood, she has a very classic name to fall back on.

I like all your choices! I think [name]Carolina[/name] is a bit more interesting than [name]Caroline[/name], but I slightly prefer [name]Caroline[/name]'s classic appeal. I absolutely love [name]Camille[/name], too, and I think [name]Callie[/name] could be a nn for that, as well. I have a friend who planned on using [name]Callie[/name] as a nn for [name]Camille[/name] if she had a girl.

[name]Ella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is my favorite, though–[name]Ella[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] [name]Sofia[/name] is on my long list, nn [name]Ella[/name] [name]Cate[/name], and I think it’s too perfect for words. I absolutely love it as a combo–and as a double name!

Good luck!

[name]Carolina[/name] [name]Faith[/name] - classic and beautiful. [name]Callie[/name] is a perfect nickname. Putting [name]Callie[/name] as the given name on the birth certificate isn’t going to age well. She’ll always be saddled with a child’s nickname. [name]Carrie[/name] is another good nn for [name]Carolina[/name]. Also, [name]Cate[/name], [name]Lina[/name], and [name]Carol[/name].
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Kate[/name]- Very beautiful. Tied with [name]Carolina[/name] for my favorites. I’m not usually a fan of [name]Kate[/name] - I’ve known too many who were awful women, but it flows so nicely with [name]Ella[/name].
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - pretty, but none of the spark of [name]Carolina[/name] or [name]Ella[/name].
[name]Camille[/name] [name]Soleil[/name] - Definitely not liking. Doesn’t flow at all and [name]Soleil[/name] makes it sound like you’re trying way too hard to be original.

I’ve known women of different ages called [name]Callie[/name], so it doesn’t strike me as a name that wouldn’t age well. Getting [name]Callie[/name] from [name]Caroline[/name] isn’t that much of a stretch to me. Perhaps you would like [name]Calla[/name] as an alternative?

My favorite from your list of names is [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Soleil[/name]. A familiar and regal first name paired with an unusual and free-spirited middle name. [name]Love[/name] it!

I love [name]Carolina[/name] [name]Faith[/name]! [name]Ella[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is also a great choice. [name]Callie[/name] can easily be a nn for [name]Carolina[/name]. I’m a firm believer that a nn can be anything you want it to be, that’s the whole point of nn’s.
