Help me decide!

I have two sons [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Asher[/name_m]… what girls name would go well their names?

I like [name_f]Ansley[/name_f], but with all of the popular -ley names… I’m second guessing it.

I also like:

Aurora
Lila
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] <- won’t use because I don’t care for Adalyn and don’t want to correct people all the time
Ella <-- We went to school with a girl who everyone called Ella Crusty, so it’s deterring me from using it. Dumb I know!

Our last name ends with a “fee” sound… is it weird to choose Sophie?

I like classic girl names, but don’t like obscure names either. I want something super feminine and soft sounding that ends with an “a” and that doesn’t sound too dated. Please help me! Thanks in advance!

I really like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] with [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Asher[/name_m]!

I do think the fee sounds doubled up might sound a bit odd?

I think that [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] would go the best with your sons’ names. They would be an adorable sibset! I probably wouldn’t choose [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] if your surname ends with a similar sound.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about:

[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Valentina[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalinda[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Selena[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] | Very similar to [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Camilla[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]
[name_f]Leila[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicia[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalia[/name_f]

I hope you like some of these. Good luck!

I love [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] with [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Asher[/name_m]! If your surname ends with the -fee sound, I don’t think [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] would work well, but it may not be horrible, it would depend on the rest of the surname.

[name_f]Ansley[/name_f] is actually trending down so it’s not trending at all. [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_u]Mckinley[/name_u] would be really cute too.

Of your names I like [name_f]Bella[/name_f] the best but I think your names don’t quite go how about -

  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_f]Summer[/name_f]
  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u]
  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_f]Greer[/name_f]
  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]/[name_u]Sierra[/name_u] (Would also be a good [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] alternative)
  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f]
  • [name_m]Miles[/name_m] , [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_f]Callie[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] (in full) and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] are classic feminine names that go really nicely with your sons names. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Bella[/name_f] meet your criteria too, but it are perhaps not quite as established in their history of use. I might try to avoid an “ey” ending with your surname. I think my overall favorites for you are [name_f]Lila[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f], but you have lots of good options.

[name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] make a lovely set! I would also suggest [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]

With [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Asher[/name_m], I like:

[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]

My first thought for you is:

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] (a luh)
[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]

Thank you for your help. It’s so hard because I want the name to be “perfect” and it’s so hard to choose!

Considering your sons’ names and sounds in your surname I would pick [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] as the best options. I also like [name_f]Emma[/name_f] with the group. All 3 of those are lovely names. I don’t see [name_f]Ansley[/name_f] as classic at all. [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] would be better but doesn’t seem to fit in style with [name_m]Asher[/name_m].

I like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], but now I’m second guessing it because our last name begins with a T. Isn’t it a naming faux pas to have alliteration?

I tossed [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] around in my head with a few T-fee names I randomly thought of, and I don’t really see a huge issue. But you’re right, usually that is a sort of faux pas.

I don’t think [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] ending with a T and the surname starting with a T is a big issue, but I don’t know your surname like you do - it’s really about what YOU think sounds good and feels right. The number of syllables between first and surnames and the vowel sounds are all involved with how the name flows overall.

My understanding was that people avoid having the same starting/ending sounds because of the way the names might run on to each other… but if I think of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_m]Thompson[/name_m] or [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_u]Taylor[/name_u] it sounds absolutely fine to me. It doesn’t seem to run on, probably because Scarle- doesn’t sound like anything else?
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] Dobson could be “Dew Dobson”, [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_m]Ralph[/name_m] could be “[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] Elf”, and I know a family with the surname [name_f]Maize[/name_f] who avoided any girls names ending in -a because, for example, “[name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Maize[/name_f]” could sound like “[name_u]Julie[/name_u] Amaze”.
But [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] doesn’t seem to have any issues, to me.

Names that immediately came to mind for you:

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]

Also, similar to [name_f]Ansley[/name_f]:
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]
[name_f]Kinsley[/name_f]
[name_u]Marley[/name_u]
(I honestly really love the ends in ley sound, and wouldn’t let the popularity of similar names stop you from choosing a name you love)

[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] with an ends in t last name seems fine, and it could be a great middle name for pretty much any of the names on your list. Good luck, and I love [name_m]Miles[/name_m] and [name_m]Asher[/name_m] btw.
