We’re expecting DD#2 in [name]April[/name] and we still can’t agree on a middle name. First name is [name]Waverly[/name] and we have very few mn options that DH & I both agree are acceptable. However, I don’t [name]LOVE[/name] his favorites and vice versa. He is really set on [name]Waverly[/name] [name]Jasmine[/name] and although I think [name]Jasmine[/name] is nice, I prefer the alternate, [name]Jessamine[/name]. DH doesn’t care for [name]Jessamine[/name] at all so I’m looking for help to make me fall in love with his favorite! I do like that [name]Jasmine[/name] is clearly a feminine name and I love that it’s a floral name. I’m just so stuck on the Disney movie association that I am having a hard time picturing a german/irish/french/korean baby sporting the middle name. And our last name is very clearly german so I feel like it doesn’t quite fit.
What are your experiences/thoughts/feelings on the name? What are your associations with it?

[name]Waverly[/name] is 3 syllables…[name]Jasmine[/name] is 2 syllables…[name]Jessamine[/name] is 3 syllables…how many syllables are in your last name? I would go with [name]Waverly[/name] [name]Jasmine[/name]. [name]Jasmine[/name] is a pretty name. And not as popular as the other princesses.
[name]Waverly[/name] [name]Jasmine[/name] is a beautiful name. I don’t necessarily associate the name [name]Jasmine[/name] to the Disney princess. I think of the name [name]Jasmine[/name] as exotic and feminine!
Our last name is 4 syllables which is another one of our main struggles in finding and agreeing on a mn but at this point most of our favorites are a mouthful so I’m moving past that issue… for now. Most likely her middle name won’t be used very often anyway. My main concern is that her name sounds nice, means something to us, and DH and I agree on it!

It makes me think of cats and pearls and the deliciously fabulous middle east, the beautiful flowers, the scent, heavy perfumes, lace, satin and boudoirs, long baths, tea in porcelain cups with hand painted roses… you get the picture. Does [name]Jasmin[/name] have some meaning to you or do you two just like the name? If it’s a meaning thing: Menodora, Sambac.
[name]Jessamine[/name] is gorgeous too, I just like [name]Waverly[/name] [name]Jasmin[/name] better.
I know a Japanese/Italian [name]Jasmin[/name] by the way!

I like [name]Jasmine[/name]! I have always loved the fact that the flower is most fragrant at night because it makes me think of a really resilient, positive person who is able to be strong even during tough times. Idk, maybe that is an odd association, but it’s part of what appeals to me about the name.
